Early scan in the morning

Hi everyone,

Feel like I'm being a complete worry wart but I've got an early scan tomorrow morning. I had a miscarriage last year. Going off my dates I'll only be around six weeks. I'm scared that they may not be able to find anything with being so early on. I did mention this to the midwife over the phone and she advised that they should be able to see something at six weeks including a heart beat. I've been reading online about people having scans at six weeks and not being able to find the heart beat. Does anyone have experience with having a scan so early on?

I had one when I was 6+3 and seen blob with heartbeat they had to do the scan internally to see anything though... I was lucky I waited til then because I had already not had a period for 10 weeks due to pcos so luckily I had decided to wait another week or I think I'd of been really worried if they couldn't of found the heartbeat ! Good luck ! I had another scan at 9+3 as they hadn't dates wrong and all was fine so nervous for my 12 week scan though a week today !

I had a scan at 5+6. Couldn't get anything externally then tried an internal and picked up a little heartbeat flashing away. Couldn't see anything much other than that. Good luck OP

I just had a scan at 8 weeks, didn't know how far along I was so there was a scary moment when it seemed like there was nothing there but then she zoomed in and there was the little blob with its heart beating away.

I has a miscarriage a few years ago and I don't think the fear ever leaves you once you've been through that. Just try to remember that in most cases everything is fine and just because you had a miscarriage before it doesn't mean you'll have one again. I'm saying this to myself too as I know I'll be terrified before my 12 weeks scan

Is it an internal scan? I had one at 6 weeks and seen a bean with a heartbeat

Yeah they've told me it'll be an internal scan. Thanks everyone, you've put me slightly at ease. Just want tomorrow to come now and hopefully see my little pumpkin seed with a strong heartbeat ☺️

I've come away feeling worse then before. They couldn't see what they would expect to see at six weeks so I'm either earlier then I thought or I've stopped progressing in the pregnancy. Couldn't see a heart beat just a sac. She thinks I may be 4-5 weeks on. I've had a blood test this morning and I've another Thursday to see if my hormone levels double up. In turmoil now, having to wait all over again 😢😢
