So tired but can't sleep

Argh!
It's too hot, I have weird restless leg (just the one!) which feels so jumpy underneath my left buttock and it makes me so cross that all I can do is get up and pee, which I've done 9 times since midnight. You'd think there'd be no fluid left in me!

I've had some tonic water, stretched my hamstring, listened to various relaxation scripts, tried progressive muscle relaxation and tossed and turned to try and find a comfortable position but it's not happening. I am sooo tired. I just want to sleep.

Sorry for the moan. It feels better to send it out into the ether than to lie here getting increasingly frustrated.

Cake for my pity party!

Me too!

I am parched but so bloody sick and tired of half hourly toilet visits that I am doing without.

Husband is snoring and I am bloody sweaty. Yuck

BobbleHat42 · 19/06/2017 02:34

I sympathise! Wide awake yet exhausted...

As well as feet and legs swollen with water retention (which is uncomfortable enough), I've now got a sun rash on my legs from being out in the sun for a bit today. They're so itchy and hot!

Plus the usual hourly peeing and thirst. I've given up. Don't want to wake DH who is working in the morning so I'm sitting downstairs trying to google myself tired again...

Ookmybanana · 19/06/2017 02:40

Nice to know I'm not alone. I've just drunk some more tonic water and have taken up residence on the downstairs toilet. Dog is very confused. There can't be any more wee surely?!

I wonder if chopping the offending restless leg off will seem too extreme in the morning?

Me too! It's a cycle of drink as so hot then need a pee, then back to needing another drink.

When are you all due? It's my due date today so hoping the weather cools by the time I go into labour.

khaleesitakesthethrone · 19/06/2017 02:54

Me too! How far along are you? I'm 36 weeks and have had awful restless legs since 26 weeks. It's got worse is now also in my hips most nights. Plus with this heat it feels like some special kind of torture!

BobbleHat42 · 19/06/2017 02:57

Yeah what is it with all the through the night peeing? I don't pee as much in the day when it would be much less hassle.

I have a theory that through the day I collect all excess fluid in my legs and feet and then at night I pee it all out. Probably not medically possible but...

Best hold onto that restless leg in case you need it to run around after your baby when the time comes Wink

Try some sports drinks with electrolyte and magnesium, they've done wonders for that restless legs.

I have a lot of fluid in my legs too. But I am being induced in 3 days. I am on countdown and just glad that whatever state I am in next weekend, at least the swelling might reduce! And the heartburn might stop. And while peeing may be painful, it might be less frequent. ETCETCEtC

But oh FFS it is actually quite hard to get out of bed now. And I usually have 3 loo trips before I drop off. I try to roll over and push myself up, stop making my abs any worse but old habits..............

And then the bedside crib is going in ready today, so i'll have to flop down to the end of the bed to be able to get up!
