I can't cope!

Toddler won't sleep because the dummy fairy came a few days ago. I'm so so hot, water and ice cream are not touching the sides.

Can't even have a shower as the water pump wakes up DH who has to be up at 4am.
Anybody else fancy a moan?

Angry this is my hot and sweaty face.

I'm not preggo now but when I was I spent most of the 9 months in the middle east 😮. 40°+ most days. It's a bloody killer. I ate ice lollies and stayed inside with the aircon most of the time. My sympathies x

SellMySoulForSomeSleep · 18/06/2017 22:11

That must have been awful! I'd give anything for Sir con right now.

Air con, obviously.

Thanks for the sympathy. DD has finished with her meltdown and has finally gone to sleep. Thank God.

Iced water time.

Do you have a bath or a big washing up bowl?

Putting your feet in cold water can be almost as refreshing as a cool bath or shower.

TheWeeWitch · 18/06/2017 22:22

I gave birth during the hottest week of the year (last August). I survived by eating copious amounts of ice cubes and sitting with wet flannels draped over various parts of my body. Soaking my feet in a bucket of cool water also helped.

NameChange30 · 18/06/2017 22:23

Or a bucket Grin

SellMySoulForSomeSleep · 18/06/2017 22:27

I'm going to do the feet soaking tip. Thanks!

I'll join you for a moan! Due date tomorrow, couldn't sleep with the heat last night, and then toddler woke up at 3 as he was too hot and had the runs... Gave up and brought him downstairs at 5. Luckily DH phoned in-laws this morning and they're going to take him for a couple of hours this morning. I'm going to sleep/soak my feet in a bucket!

Damp clothes on your wrists help to cool you down as Well!

sprite25 · 19/06/2017 12:47

I usually like the summer but am currently sitting in front of a fan in my bra and pants. I feel (abit) better after wallowing in a very cool bath for 20 minutes, toddler permitting.

SellMySoulForSomeSleep · 19/06/2017 16:16

Currently sat with feet in paddling pool. Looking forward to a cold shower!

Literally been sat all day with my feet in a bowl of water! It does help keep me cool, but it's a pain in the arse to dry my feet every time I want to get up! Does anyone else feel extra swollen (hands, ankles, feet, etc) in this weather? ☹️

TheLionQueen1 · 19/06/2017 16:38

Snap Sellmysoul! I laughed when my DH bought it and now I won't get out of it! I'm only 24 weeks and think it's unbearable so feeling very sorry for those more pregnant!!
