I found out yesterday I am pregnant (5 weeks on Thurs i think).

Is it normal to feel mild period like pains? I am paranoid because i keep reading mixed views????
When I was pg with my dd 4 and a half years ago I didn't find out til I was over 7 weeks pregnant so I have no memory at all of any sensations (if any).

As dd was a surprise, this whole ttc thing has been a bit of a shock (only taken 4 months - and i'm still only 5 months post depo so, i'm surprised and chuffed) and as a result I am so much more scared about it all... I'm terrified of something going wrong

Congratulations!! It is entirely normal as it is your womb starting to shift about and getting ready to expand. I still rushed to the toilet every 5 mins though! I wish you a happy and healthy pregnancy!

coppertop · 20/03/2007 18:41

Congratulations! Yes, I had the same thing in all 3 pregnancies. Good luck.

lulumama · 20/03/2007 18:42

congratulations from me too !

it is normal, and not neccesarily an indication of anything sinister....as has been said.. x

alittlebitshy · 20/03/2007 18:43

gpd yes, i'm back and forth to the loo muttering "please god no blood please god no blood" like a mantra

This was the month I "ideally" wanted, just cos this way our dc2 will be exactly (give or take)a year younger than his/her cousin!!!!! so I can't beleive it has happened and i am feeling so scared it won;t stick.

when pg with dd i never really went on any web sites so i now know so much more and it scares me!!!

quite, a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing, can;t it !

you relax, take care and enjoy, and i wish you all the very best x

Congratulations! The internet can be a real mixed blessing when you're pregnant..actually, at any time come to think of it. It's too easy at times to find what you both want and don't want to hear. Don't do what I did, and terrify yourself for the whole 9 months!

funnypeculiar · 20/03/2007 18:47

I had this too
Congratulations

alittlebitshy · 20/03/2007 18:49

and when does it tend to stop???

I'm awaiting the yukky ms in a few weeks. I was v poorly with dd although in a horrid job (well horrid boss) so the stress may have contributed

the first few weeks are achey ,crampy , sicky, nauseous, and often quite icky while the pregnancy establishes and the hormonal changes go mad ! things do settle down, just depends, each pregnancy can be so different.

alittlebitshy · 20/03/2007 18:54

oh and guess what? I'm going to have to give up my precious take that tickets lol. I'm due (by my dates) on 22nd nov and i have tickets for 29th nov. how funny

lulumama · 20/03/2007 18:54

oooh...you can sell them on ebay and buy something lovely for the baby !

EdieMcredie · 21/03/2007 07:24

It is normal and I at almost 15 weeks still get them. It's only a problem if they are very severe and come with heavy bleeding.

Good luck and enjoy getting fat!!!!

MrsJohnCusack · 21/03/2007 08:03
