I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk

If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is great: 024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy#!scenario

I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.

So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Blue - I'm going boy too. This group is s big boy biased at the moment.

Lemon - NZ is about 12hrs ahead of the U.K. So it's Saturday morning here. Hubby is playing with DD and I've gone back to bed. Been up for an hour and a half and I'm exhausted!

27Harper · 15/07/2017 08:07

Oh. I had a 15 hour nap. Blue - guessing boy too, but since everyone else is saying boy I'm half tempted to say girl to level the playing field a bit xx

Natsku · 15/07/2017 08:12

I'm rubbish at gender guessing but loving the scan pics.

When will this exhaustion let up?! I'm sleeping 10-12 hours at night and still need a nap and needing to go to bed too early to do any evening fishing. I'm even going to bed before DD some nights!

27Harper · 15/07/2017 08:18

Ugh I know. Was the same the other day. Fell asleep for 12 hours, was awake for 10 hours then needed another 7 hour nap! Luckily my DS is usually asleep too and DH is there to feed him lol xx

Melleebacca · 15/07/2017 08:48

Natsku - I'm 34w now but have been going to bed at 8pm (about half an hour after DD) since I was 6w. The exhaustion never let up for me. I wake between 5 & 6 every morning and still feel tired. I don't nap when DD does, but I still lie down for the whole time she's asleep.

Lemondrop99 · 15/07/2017 08:59

Natsku, my first trimester exhaustion lasted until about 16 weeks. I'm still weak and tired now, but it's different to that all consuming exhaustion of first trimester combined with HG!

Ok, so I'm defiantly NOT complaining (after months of ondansetron constipation), but I seem to have gone the other way now. I've had a bit of an upset stomach all week, in combination with my sickness increasing. I don't think it's a bug. Could it just be a hormone surge?

Still feeling rubbish today, think I'm going to cave and take an ondansetron for the first time in weeks Sad There's a choir show this morning that I really want to do, but deep down I know that's a bad idea. So conflicted Confused. Really need to be getting up now and heading for a shower, but still in bed.

27Harper · 15/07/2017 09:11

After sleeping for 15 hours I am STILL tired. I don't feel as nauseous today though so I guess that's a positive. Steve has been dismissed for now (my blue sick basket) xx

BlueIsYou · 15/07/2017 10:07

You are all RIGHT!

He certainly is a boy. I have attached Crown Jewels because I'm a cruel Mother Grin

27Harper I feel like death (sleep wise), and I've had about 15 hours too! Argh, when will this end?

I always find that I feel more sick/I'm physically more vomity if I get woken up by something other than my own body clock at the moment

BlueIsYou what a gorgeous little peanut. Congrats! I always feel like that to. I have no use for alarm clocks atm xx

BlueIsYou · 15/07/2017 10:31

27Harper Thank you! The sonographer always say he's 'beautiful'. My head expands very much so indeed when I hear these flattering comments BlushGrin

27Harper · 15/07/2017 10:44

BlueIsYou I was exactly like this with my DS! I don't know how to take compliments so I just blush and go all embarrassed. I wonder how my little peanuts will look in a few weeks time as I'm only nearly 7 weeks atm xx

LucindaE · 15/07/2017 11:07

Blues Ha, Ha, I guessed boy and for 1984 girl. Harper Fifteen hours is impressive- time must pass more quickly that way!

LucindaE to be fair it does. I just feel bad for my poor hubby who is doing absolutely everything for me lately. It's luck that he has flexible hours otherwise I don't know where I'd be! xx

thingymaboob · 15/07/2017 11:40

Hi everyone - feel like I've missed out on so much on this thread! I hope everyone is doing ok!
I'm on holiday in Scotland in a cottage. Was meant to be driving a camper van around Cornwall but as soon as I got HG we cancelled that.
I had two good weeks 12-14 but I relapsed yesterday and did some of my most violent vomiting to date. I threw up all over myself and on a blanket.
Lying in bed hoping cyclizine will work but like @Lemondrop99 I might have to resort to ondansetron. My poor husband just wants to have a nice relaxing holiday as he's done nothing but look after me.
I really thought I was over the hump but it's like weeks 7-10 again!!

beanhunter · 15/07/2017 11:45

So disappointingly after managing dinner yesterday today is not shaping up so well. Have just vomited immediately after taking my ondansetron. Can I repeat the dose?

thingymaboob · 15/07/2017 11:46

@beanhunter how much did you take?

beanhunter · 15/07/2017 12:02

4mg

beanhunter · 15/07/2017 12:04

Also is headache a side effect of ondansetron?

thingymaboob · 15/07/2017 12:11

Some people take 8mg at a time (24mg a day) so I would say yes to taking another 4mg, especially if you vomited it up. Headaches can be caused by dehydration, vomiting, stress or med side effects. Or lots of other things!

DeadDoorpost · 15/07/2017 12:34

thingy Cornwall is the worst for travelling in cars. There's so many twists and turns and hills... It's beautiful, but horrible if you're sick. Good call to cancel it.

Although had I known you were going I'd have been staring at every camper van I saw to try and guess if it was you or not.

Lemondrop99 · 15/07/2017 15:14

Well that went horribly bloody wrong Hmm Tried to go to a small choir performance but had to catch the train there. Felt awful by the time I got to the venue, threw up on arrival then had to leave the stage during the performance Sad Had to ask DH to come and collect me (which turned into a faff when a traffic accident caused massive congestion). Home now and thoroughly fed up Angry

Mustang27 · 15/07/2017 16:43

Where in Scotland are you holidaying Thingy? Sorry you aren't feeling better for it though. We do unfortunately have a lot of windy roads here too.

Oh dear Lemon that's not good sorry it didn't go to plan.

He is a beautiful boy Blue.

Sorry everyone is so tired, I'm defo in the same boat. Shame you are missing the fishing Natsku.

thingymaboob · 15/07/2017 17:47

@Mustang27 I'm in a tiny village in the south west near newton stewart.
@Lemondrop99 you poor thing. Sorry you had to leave your performance early
@beanhunter did you take another one?
@DeadDoorpost I like Cornwall. I live in Bristol so it's a nice weekend away

LucindaE · 15/07/2017 19:22

thingymaboob I hope you can enjoy Scotland and it's a temporary glitch. Those two good weeks are no doubt a sign of more to come.
Lemondrop Oh no, about disasterous choirc practice. Brave of you to go.
beanhunter I have heard of meds that if you can see it in the vomit, then it is safe to repeat the dose. I hope you did.
Waves to all.

LucindaE · 15/07/2017 19:24

I meant to say, beanhunter a minority of women on here have complained of headaches with Ondansetron, but as others say, it could equally be hormonal or - hopefully not- dehydration (exit, flapping and clucking about ketones).
DeadDoorPost That sounds like Wales!
