Am 8 or 9 weeks pregnant (not sure about dates) and have had mild symptoms so far which have become more intense over the last week or so but still not too troublesome. Some queasiness, sore boobs. This is my second pregnancy and I think I felt worse with my first dc.
Anyway, after walking home from work today I had some brown/red discharge. Enough to stain my pants (tmi) but not enough to need a pad. It is thick in consistency and stopped after about 1 hour. Also had some crampy low abdomen pains which also eased off.
I phoned the midwife who sent me to nhs 24 who sent me to EPU which is 80 miles away and closed now.
Please reassure me this is not the start of a miscarriage? Feel so alone, don't know what to do. I didn't have any problems with dc1 and am feeling sick with worry.
Think I will take tomorrow off work as it is quite a physical job but then what? I have to go back the next day :(

I have had this 3 times so far (except bright red blood not brown) and been sent to EPU, baby is fine and I saw the heartbeat on Tuesday. I am 7+4.

I obviously can't tell you it's definitely fine, but it has been for me so far.

I bled with my second baby for around a day. Awful cramping too. I was convinced it was a miscarriage. It wasn't. He's now almost 4! It doesn't necessarily mean anything bad. Try not to panic. It is worrying and I understand.

Also, don't worry about the mild symptoms. Each pregnant is different. My symptoms with my son were much more severe than with my daughter.

Good luck.

I had this with DD2 (nothing like it in my first pregnancy so I was a bit surprised). NHS24 thought I was having an ectopic pregnancy (not sure why as I had no symptoms of it. They made me go to a and e and when I protested (a Friday night) she screamed "but you could die" down the phone at me.

So off I went to see a bemused a and e doctor who referred me to the epu the next day. The epu lady said she wished they had been open when I first called as they wouldn't even have bothered to see me for that (though they were happy enough to see me-
Just apologetic for the hassle).

She said there want really need to worry unless the bleeding was significant or continued for more than 48'hours or was accompanied by pain (more that just general early pregnancy cramps).

They did a scan and all was well. 18month old DD2 is here next to me battling sleep.

I hope all is well for you too.

I've had 2 bleeds so far and been to EPU I'm currently 10 weeks and have seen a wriggly little one on the scan. It's so nerve wracking. Definitely take time off work and rest. Keeping fingers crossed all is well for you. xx
