Could I be pregnant? Any other suggestions about why a period could be late...

Hi hoping for some wisdom! I took the morning after pill on 10th May - midway through my cycle and I've not had my usual period yet. It's been a stressful few months and I've been doing a lot of running recently. I've been struggling to conceive after a miscarriage last year and recently came to the difficult decision not to try any longer. When I've had the morning after pill previously I don't remember it impacting my periods so much. Could I be pregnant or is it likely to be a later period as discussed with pharmacist? Any ideas or reassurance gratefully received.

Obvious question but have you taken a pregnancy test?

Neverknowing · 14/06/2017 22:53

Stress can cause your period to be late or even stop as can a change in diet.
I don't know if it's rare for it to stop or not but as pp said you should take a test! Good luck.

I need to take a test but I'm scared of what the results might be. Isn't it just typical- try for nine months to be pregnant- then decide my family is complete - then potentially get up the stick again.

Do a test today, going by what you have said you are three weeks late so if you are pregnant you should get a positive at any time of the day. Hope you hey the result you are after!

MAP seriously messes with your hormones and disturbs your cycle. I swore after taking it once, never again, as I was doubled over with cramps so badly I couldn't actually work

Obviously POAS to check

I have taken the MAP twice. Once it didn't disrupt anything at all and the other time my period was late and very heavy/painful.
But like others said, obviously checkSmile

Ok I have got the pregnancy test and will do one tomorrow morning. Yikes. Let's hope it's a false alarm. My last miscarriage was so traumatic it just about broke me. Will report back. Thanks to all for advice.

If your period is late you don't need to wait until morning you can do it anytime, good luck!

Took the test this morning and it came back negative. I guess the morning after pill just whacked my cycle out of the park. Will test again next week if no period arriving. Then if still no period I guess it's the GP to figure out what is happening. Thanks to all for advice.

And my period came along this morning. A relief.
