currently 31+6wks & have been measuring big from the beginning on scans & midwife fundal height etc. my dates are correct & been checked 3 times by different people. im currently measuring 2wks or so bigger than i should be. its my 2nd pregnancy/baby, my first was born 8lb 14oz & needed drip, waters broken, epsiotomy & forceps as labour failed to progress quick enough on its own. i was about size 10 pre-pregnancy then lost 2-3stone from hyperemesis but put it back on and some more.
just wondering what others experiences have been - were you induced earlier than due date etc? gtt came back clear

I'm measuring big too but seem to have gone up lines so may well be talking about induction tomorrow after growth scan (was scheduled to have this anyway)

Didn't get sent to do GTT

whoateallthejaffacakes · 13/06/2017 22:19

graph looks like 25% above the 90th percentile.
arbrighton how many weeks is your induction planned at?

SelfObsessionHoney · 14/06/2017 05:53

I'm getting induced at 37 weeks (Friday coming) as baby is measuring the size of a toddler. They reckon if I went to 40 weeks it would be about 12-14lbs. Have been checked for diabetes twice. Both negative.

arbrighton · 14/06/2017 07:40

It isn't, yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We're going to discuss it at the appointment today if we've moved up the centiles- was on 90th last time having being previously been about 70th.

I'll update when/ if we know and DH and I have discussed

I'm 37+1 now so not going to be early early

arbrighton · 14/06/2017 07:41

Ah I see what you mean- the growth scan was scheduled.

But I wrote that post badly

arbrighton · 14/06/2017 13:59

@whoateallthejaffacakes

So, have had the appt and will be 38+2 when induced due to this baby being 'chunky' and est 8lb9 at 37 weeks, well over 95% line

Main concern is they're ok size wise right now but much bigger, and too big for me and risk of shoulder dystocia.

To be honest, I'm so ready anyway and was dreading even having to wait til 40 weeks never mind going over

whoateallthejaffacakes · 14/06/2017 22:57

thanks for the update, baby was estimated to be 4lb8oz when i was 30wks. have consultant app on 21st, seen her at 12wks & voiced my concern about another big/bigger baby and she was very relaxed attitude and said big babies are not to be feared Confused

Oh this is my first.

But the irony is that the growth scans were scheduled to look at things being small (some risk of exposure to Zika) and in the end, they've shown the opposite. But, based on midwife bump measurement last week, I'd have been sent for one this week anyway. They're happy just now with current size as if you track across, it's on the lines for 40 weeks but any more and concern about shoulder dystocia.

However, I'm so fed up with lumbering about and so excited to get on with being a mum, and was anxious about not knowing when things would happen, that I'm not unhappy about it.

MummyFoxy · 15/06/2017 08:56

Very glad to see your posts and that other people are going through the same as me! Currently 39+2 with a big baby. Growth scan at 38 weeks baby was measuring 9lb8. This is my second baby; like OP, 1st baby was pretty big (8lb10), induced, waters broken, drip, episiotomy, tear and forceps, so I'm getting a bit anxious about giving birth to this giant! Consultant seems pretty relaxed though; she's happy to let me go one week over due date. But I've got another scan on due date and if baby is measuring 5kg+ then they will book me in for a C/S that week.
I'm just so sick of being so big - everything is a struggle. I'm quite a petite build, 5'4, size 10, and then this enormous belly (btw- anyone else sick of strangers asking if it's twins?! Angry)

arbrighton · 15/06/2017 09:13

Ah, I'm not petite and am quite tall (as is DH). And I suspect there may have been rather too many biscuits in the last few months :/ If we do this again, I will have to have good eating habits to see if that helps.

But lots of shocked faces that I'm not rather further on than I say at family events etc.

Am so glad not to be going over, i've not been able to do any of my 'normal' for so long. I'd normally 'temper' my eating with rowing but that has not been an option for months as I don't bend in the middle and would just SINK!. So, bare minimal walks for the dogs has been it.

EyeDrops · 15/06/2017 10:12

My DD measured 5lb 13 at 32 weeks - I'd only had that scan due to reduced movements, my bump always measured normal so there was never talk of early induction or anything. Ended up with a 9lb 2 baby at 41+4, and it wasn't so bad (natural birth, just G&A), and I'm only petite myself. Even so I hope the next one is smaller!!

On the positive side, her size meant I never worried too much about how much she fed/sleeping too much as a newborn because she had plenty to spare!

whoateallthejaffacakes · 15/06/2017 22:03

selfobsession hope tomorrows induction goes quickly & not too intense xo.
arbrighton not long left to go Smile. mummyfoxy i didn't think you'd be allowed to go over by that much if measuring big. wonder if my consultant will be the same as yours. im 32+1 and feeling uncomfortable as it is, cant imagine another 9-10wks if allowed to go over Confused
baby was head down for about 2 months then flipped sideways about a week or so ago.

whoateallthejaffacakes · 15/06/2017 22:06

im 5ft5 & OH is 6ft, expecting a girl this time which i thought might mean a smaller baby along with the hyperemesis

OP posts:
kshaw · 15/06/2017 22:29

I was measuring within the 97th percentile. Expecting a 10-12lb-er - she came of her own accord at 34+6 weighing 6lb 12!
