TTC and periods after pill!

Hi everyone, new to this forum

Me and my partner are TTC and I've just stopped taking the progesterone only pill...
I had my withdrawal bleed as soon as I stopped taking it and seven days later I'm bleeding again!

there cramps are awful and I just don't understand what's going on in my body right now.

Were trying for baby number one and it's the first time I've ever tried for kids so obviously the normal paranoia is coming in my head like "what if I can't have kids" or its not happening fast enough!

Just looking for advice and reassurance really 😁

Really don't understand why I'm on my period now so quickly

Your body does weird stuff for a while after the pill and it's nothing to worry about. I'd say it's positive that you're bleeding, some people go months with no period. Give yourself a couple of months for things to settle down and then see where you are.

@oysterbabe

Thank you, just me being impatient I just wish things would hurry up and I would get pregnant

Taking seven seas trying for a baby tablets, sex every other day because my cycle is messed up

But from what I keep reading people have waited for ages for their periods to come back?
Isn't it a little quick to have a period after only 7 days of your withdrawal bleed ending?

Everyone is different, I stopped cerazette on Feb 12th, had a short withdrawal bleed, first period on 22 March and currently 11 weeks pregnant. From about 8 days after my first period we dtd every other day until ovulation (I used ovulation tests)

It could be a normal period now as you can still ovulate on the mini pill. Fingers crossed things will happen for you soon!!

arbrighton · 13/06/2017 22:10

I stopped Cerelle last june.
Withdrawal bleed fairly quickly then 28ish day cycles.

Used condoms til we went on hols in Oct as I wanted to be vaguely sure about dates. Came back with a stowaway, BFP 4 weeks after previous period. 37 weeks today

Only took straight folic acid before hand and up to 12 weeks, then added in vit D when midwives said to at booking in.

Impatience is just getting the better of me I think then, also the first time TTC so I'm so nervous 🙈

Not much tends to go right for me so I am worried I'll have a problem!

Oh, it was our first 'let's see what happens' month

No idea when I ovulated. Holiday. DTD as and when. Bit older. Much surprise that it all worked out and mostly textbook

user1497385141 · 13/06/2017 22:34

That's reassuring 😊

I really am an awful worrier, my periods were like clockwork before the pill and it was great! I really do regret taking Cerelle, coming off it is awful. Had cramps, mood has gone crazy and my cycle is screwed

So after this first period will things return to normal?

I was only on cerelle on and off for a year so

I can't promise it will go back to normal- mine did, after several years on it and virtually no periods during that time.

Realising that the pill might have had a considerable role in the depression I've suffered over the years. So will have to consider other methods once bean is born

DarcyParty · 14/06/2017 11:38

I was on the mini pill (cerelle) for 5 months, stopped 1st of January and had an on/of withdrawal bleed for a week or two. Then I had a proper period end of January, and conceived around Valentines day Wink

Currently 19 weeks pregnant! Good luck OP! Smile

@user1497385141

Thank you! It will be you soon hopefully x
Before taking the pill my periods were all over the place, so I convinced myself it would take ages. I guess you never know!

We were also dtd every other day, I took Seven Seas trying for a baby and evening primrose oil.

Can't wait to see your bfp!

user1497385141 · 14/06/2017 12:37

@DarcyParty

Aww thank you so much, I do feel better hearing your story.
I got freaked out when there was so little time between the withdrawal bleed and AF!

Seems to be like a really heavy flow at the minute Confused too 🙈

I really need to learn how to relax a bit more

I'm taking seven seas but not evening primrose, what's that meant to do?

@user1497385141 Well my mam always swore it helped her pms, so I thought it might help with my period problems. Who knows? I stopped taking it once I was pregnant though :)

underthestarrysky · 14/06/2017 22:22

Evening primrose and vit E may help!

Kittykat2612 · 31/07/2017 10:11

How's it going? I'm in a similar position! Was on the pill for 10 years and came off it in April. Had normal periods since original withdrawal bleed and just ovulated for at the second time that I know of x
