Question about dates

Hi everyone

The first day of my LMP was 23rd April. Ovia pregnancy makes me 7+2.

I had an early scan today because of some bleeding (all ok) but the technician said she makes me 6+3 based on the measurements she took.

Do any of you know how I can be a week behind when I am totally sure of my LMP?

Thanks!

Because you didn't ovulate exactly on day 14.

I ovulated on day 14 (according to clearblue!)

I am just a bit worried things aren't progressing properly as I'm so sure of my dates

My midwife told me the dating is more accurate at 12 weeks, so I'm certain of when I ovulated and had a scan at 9+6 but baby measured 9+2 so can just take a while to catch up, hopefully dates will match up at next scan

My early scan (7ish weeks) pushed me back 5 days, which stayed the same at all future scans. It's not unusual for implantation to take a few days and for your dates to change.

Don't worry at this stage.

My early scan pushed me back five days from my lmp date and my 12 week scan pushed me forward a week going by my lmp. It's hard to get an accurate measurement so early on as they are so tiny

Thank you so much guys :)

Hi I had my 12 week scan last Wednesday and they said I was 13 weeks n now my partner is questioning the dates because they don't add up as I would have conceived 7 March but I haddent seen him between end of Feb to the 20 th March I don't get it either cause he is the only person I have been with since I split up with a ex end of last year he now says it's going to be dodgey between us now cause the dates don't add up bearing in mind my last period was a day late and only lasted 2 days that was 4th march.

I was a week behind at a 7+5 scan and was told baby was 6+3 but by 13 week scan I was only put a day behind which was expected anyway!

Sambo basically they will change your gestational age at 12 week scan based on how big the baby is (your baby may have grown mega fast at the beginning which is why it is now measuring big. If you are using 7th March as your conception date because you were couting 13 weeks back then that is wrong... you are already 2 weeksish pregnant before you concieve... meaning that if the 7th is the first day of your 1st week of pregnancy that should have actually been your LMP date and that in the doctors eyes you ov'd on 21st

Emma2803 · 14/06/2017 15:15

Yes sambo, going by those dates you conceived 21 March as they usually date the pregnancy from the date of your last period for simplicity and they take into account that most people usually release the egg 14 days into the pregnancy so technically the first two weeks you aren't actually pregnant or may not have even had sex. It's just most people don't know when they ovulate but generally do know when their last period was so it makes it easier this way. Look up on baby centre it should explain it and show your partner. Like pregnancy by week.

sambocampo91 · 14/06/2017 15:56

This is my first so I'm all new to this so dose that mean I conceived in Feb instead of March then

Emma2803 · 14/06/2017 16:18

No you conceived around the end of March, so this ties in with you saying you saw your partner again on the 20th March.
