MASSIVE at 25 weeks 😞

I'm 25 weeks pregnant with our second much wanted baby and I'm bloody huge. In the past week I've been described as "heavily pregnant" and told tonight that I'm as big as someone else's 8 month pregnant friend.

Feel huge and slightly worried about what the next 15 weeks will bring. Please say something to make me feel better. I feel like a whale already 😞

Have you been checked for gestational diabetes? I have it (and was also massive by 25 weeks) but have it under control now which has helped with my size. Also it could be water retention- if you're really concerned speak to your midwife. I bet you're not as big as you feel x

Saw the midwife last week and all was well. Think any tummy muscles I once had have just given up this time...

Hope you're ok. Are you being monitored throughout? How do you have to manage it? x

I've had friends who were bigger in the earlier stages with lots of fluid and as tge baby grew, some of the fluid got reabsorbed so they didn't end up as big as predicted.

You might not be as big as you feel. As for what other are saying people are just incredibly tactless, especially when it comes to all things pregnancy related.

I was absolutely ginormous 2nd time around. As I was rather small with dc1 and he ended up 2 weeks late, I convinced myself dc2 would be early.

He wasn't!

I had even moved his due date forward in my head! Don't do that - it makes the last 6 weeks hell!

HaggisMuncher · 12/06/2017 22:58

Ha! That sounds like a loooong six weeks...

I've been caught off guard by how much the comments have bothered me TBH. Even considered a self pitying cry this evening! But overall I am enjoying pregnancy and lots of kicking from the baby, probably helped by all that extra space! Will cross fingers for some major fluid reabsorption over the next few months. Thanks folks x

I had comments yesterday about how big I was at 24 weeks and how massive I'll be by term. I'm a high risk pregnancy with lots of extra checks and am measuring bang on for dates. I just ignore people - they just say things for the sake of saying things!

someblondegirl · 13/06/2017 10:22

I've had comments about how enormous I am the whole way through. People are insensitive twats. When strangers ask if it's twins now, I'll often just say yes to avoid the shock/horror on their faces of hearing it's just the one

EdgarAllenPoe · 13/06/2017 10:41

I was genuinely massive during my first pregnancy. Not that the truth should give people a right to comment on my appearance, but they do. People gave me doubting looks from about 25 weeks onwards when I told them I had ages to go yet, as if they knew better!

I didn't have GD or any other sinister thing, I just make big babies and carry them all out the front (I'm short too, so nowhere to hide anything). My baby was fine, I was fine. I eventually lost the weight and all is well. People are idiots, try to ignore them!

I'm 17 weeks with my second and already showing earlier. I dread to think how houselike I will become in the coming weeks but ah well, that's life. We'll have to be careful to sit at opposite ends of any vehicles we happen to share. ;)
