No heartbeat

So I've just had a scan at 8&6 and there was no heartbeat. Bit of a shock as I've had no bleeding or any other bad symptoms. Now apparently I have to wait. Does anyone know what happens next?

I don't really have any advice for you but just wanted to send you a hug and I hope everything is ok. X Flowers

So sorry, what a horrible shock. Did the hospital give you any leaflets? Usually the choice is to wait (but that can be for a couple of weeks) to miscarry naturally, have some tablets which start it off, or have a surgical miscarriage. I've had all three, and personally preferred the tablets, as I could go home and have my home comforts around me. Do you have a follow up appointment?

I passed an 8 weeker at home alone. . Bleeding followed by contractions and an urge to push. Completely intact. I felt better afterwards as bleeding slowed down and didn't seek medical help. If you feel out of your depth do ring someone though.

So sorry for you. I have several miscarriages and my preferred method (god that sounds awful but it's true unfortunately!) is to have the tablets. Simply because you're in control of what's happening, I've had one come away intact and one in bits when I've had the tablets (in bits just means the surrounding tissue comes away in like clots, this could also happen if you just let nature take its cause). But most importantly, because I had them in hospital, they were then able to test the fetus to see what was wrong. This in turn led to me and DH getting genetics testing.
Sending you hugs xx

I'm really sorry to hear this. Have they offered you another scan in a weeks time?

JCleRoux · 12/06/2017 08:36

I'm ready sorry OP. They should have at least given you options as PP have mentioned. Not a lot more to add but sending you hugs. Flowers

She said I could wait for it to occur naturally and if it hadn't occurred in two weeks, they would take me for a D&c. I'm not in uk and the tablets aren't available here.

I'm sorry to hear this, it's called a missed miscarriage and I suffered the same thing last summer. Sending you a big hug x

Presh1234 · 12/06/2017 09:33

Maiz how long did it take for it all to kick off with you? I'm so afraid of the pain and the trauma of it all. 😓

Unfortunately it never did for me. I had to have the medical management (tablets) because body just wouldn't recognise I wasn't pregnant anymore Sad
