Sorry if it's a graphic question but where does it come from?!!
I'm currently in hospital being monitored for a suspected ectopic. I've been bleeding since Wednesday, red scarlet blood, no clots, but my cervix is still closed. Where is the blood coming from?!! I'm 5+5 . Hormones rising but very slowly so not a viable pregnancy.

Closed doesn't mean sealed. There's always a small "gap", for want of a better word, in the middle.

Ooooh ok. That makes sense thank you!

It looks like a ring doughnut with a very small hole. Then it does the amazing stretching trick when a baby needs to get out Smile

Could be wrong, but I think the cervix is 'closed' whenever you aren't in labour - so you are still able to have periods through it!

I hope you get the best possible outcome Flowers
