I am just wondering if the midwifes do home visits for the second pregnancy and are they so involved and checking up like the first one ?

Do you mean before baby is born or after?

I would have thought it depends on your area and your pregnancy. I think I only had one home visit first and second time around but I would have had more home visits if I couldn't make appointments in the surgery.

Where the visits take place depends on your area but you will probably have less appts than first time. National guidance is booking appt 8-12weeks, Nuchal scan 11-14weeks, midwife appt 16-18weeks, anomaly scan 19-24weeks, midwife appt 28weeks, midwife/GP 34weeks, midwife appt 36weeks, midwife/GP 40weeks, midwife 41weeks

I've never had any home visits from midwives before baby was born (afterwards, yes).

The health visitors in my area do home visits before baby is born, but they made the appointments so close to the due date that none of the ones I've been offered happened before the baby was born.

My pregnancy folder thingy had a list of appointments in and the list for 2nd baby and beyond had fewer appointments.

I know with dc2 I had the booking in, a 12 week scan, a 16 week appt, a 20 week scan and then I was saw at 26 wks, 32, 39 and he dropped before 40wks.

NapQueen · 10/06/2017 19:26

Oh and only booking in was a home visit.
