Anyone else on here very overweight before becoming pregnant?

This is my first pregnancy.... and I'm very overweight (14.12lb) and only 5'1".

I'm 6 weeks and already feeling very bloated. Im anxious about health, baby and becoming huge. my trousers the last day have felt tight around tummy and I'm feeling in a really low mood today.

I just wondered if there were other mum's to be out there in a similar position?

Yes, me. Currently 34 weeks pregnant. Am 5ft 2 and was 13st 10lbs when I got my BFP. Was 13st 5lbs at my booking appt, so a BMI of 34.

I have been really careful to try and minimise any weight gain. My midwife advised that it should be no more than around 9kg (about 20lbs) during the whole pregnancy. I've also joined Slimming World to help rein in the weight gain.

Clothing wise, I've just gone for what is comfy. I'm a size 16 normally, and some of my clothes are still fine now. ASOS offer a decent range of maternity sizes, so that's been handy too.

Me! My booking in BMI was 35, midwife advised 11-20lbs gain during pregnancy, I'm now 35 weeks and have gained 17lbs, 7 of which is estimated to be baby according to the additional scans I've been having.
It's just a case of being sensible, just cos I want a pizza doesn't mean I should eat one, excess weight can cause serious issues and it's within my means to minimise those.
I was super bloated during the first 10 weeks or so but that did settle down.
I've bought some comfy over bump jeans from matalan, bought before I needed them as such and they still fit around my thighs so I know I'm not doing too badly 😂
Don't be hard on yourself, don't google too much, just eat sensibly, plenty of fruit and veg, ask to be referred to the healthy living midwife if you fancy and maintain your current levels of exercise and maybe take up something new like aqua natal or Pilates.

I was 16st 7lb when I got pregnant and am 5ft 5. I was exactly 18st when I went into labour so gained 21lbs. Baby was 7.12 and I was back to 16st 7lbs 13 days after giving birth. I breastfed so felt this helped me lose it so quickly.
Because I'm generally fit and well I wasn't under consultant care but had growth scans. I was allowed a water birth in the midwife led unit xx
