hcg 239 5 weeks - in tears someone help me

I went for an early ultrasound because I had very light spotting. Couldn't see anything other than a thickened lining, so they did my HCG and progesterone.

HCG is 239 and progesterone 40. I've got to go back to get it retested.

Its ectopic isn't it Sad it was unplanned but both DP and I really want this baby and I can't stop crying.

Is there any chance this is okay? With DS I had spotting and unable to see a fetal pole at 6 weeks. Is it possible that I just have low HCG at first?

Huggies baby info says it's in the realms of normal.
The important thing with HCG is how it increases. I'm guessing your back in on Sunday or Monday. It should behave doubled. Flowers

X post with Red because I'm slow at typing.

Thank you. Does it matter that my numbers are lower in normal?

I have an anxiety disorder and I'm really worried :(

I've got line progression on my pregnancy tests which shows it's increasing right?

First one is 15/16 dpo
Second one is 17/18 dpo
Third one is 20 dpo

This means it's rising doesn't it?

Hi Dragons

Hcg needs to be around 1000 for anything to be seen on ultrasound.

Similar happened to me, I had a scan, my period was a week late so 5 weeks. Nothing but a thickened lining was seen and I was referred for management of PUL (preg of unknown location) I had hcg bloods 48 hours apart which increased from 440 to 900 so this accounted for the scan. 2 weeks later there was a gest sac and fetal pole and all was well.

It could be too early for you, you may have ovulated later, then it can take 18 days for implantation.

Try not to worry, I know its easier said than done. Take care

Stop peeing on the pregnancy tests. The amount of hcg in urine can be affected by how much you drank last night, and how much you overslept (ie urine concentration). And they are not valid after 10 mins, so reading them days later can be meaningless.
Your pregnant, congratulations. But you need to wait for the next hcg blood result.
I spent a week on knicker watch following a previous ectopic. It's hellish, and I know this advice is going to be impossible to follow, but try to forget about it. Ectopics are rare. Healthy pregnancies are much more common.
And the range is there because healthy pregnancies can have hcg in those ranges. That's why the change in hcg is the only way to work out what might be going on before scans can be relied on.
Try to relax for the weekend.

HCG varies hugely. At 4 + 1 weeks mine was 22 as I was tested as soon as bfp due to previous ectopic. Was basically told it was too low but it did increase and so far all is normal (22 weeks)

You need a second reading about 48 hours later for comparison. Fingers crossed for you

Pregnancy tests won't really tell you a great deal once you already establish your pregnant. And often they can be misleading for instance I had a miscarriage at 10 weeks because of a SCH and I was taking occasional tests to try to figure out when my cycle would restart. I was still getting positive tests long after the baby had left my body (6 weeks) because the hormones will linger. So save yourself the money and stop POS xx
Re your us, it is quite early as yet and not all scans are equal, I hope you have better luck with the next scan. I had two losses after my first DS, then my fourth pregnancy was perfect and currently on my fifth, expecting a third boy. If this pregnancy doesn't work out, I know it's hard but as I kept saying to myself at the time, this too shall pass, and it did xxx

Dr send me from bloods and they can back at (dr thought) 4weeks 6 day 52ml and 5weeks 122ml.
