1st sweep - help!

I've just had my first sweep at 37+1 with first baby - the reason being that I'm on Clexane for a DVT in early pregnancy and they want to induce me at term, I'm not keen on an induction so the compromise was sweeps from 37 weeks. The midwife said she probably wouldn't be able to do much as she expected my cervix to be high and tightly closed, but it's actually 50% effaced and 1cm dilated! She was quite shocked.

Now I need someone to talk me down from the roof! Am I having this baby very soon?! Really wasn't expecting to be 1cm already so kidda freaking out now! Is it possible I'll still go to term?

I'm on Clexane too and shitting myself! I'm very early on but already it's playing on my mind about the birth. Don't know much about sweeps (or anything for that matter) but hope it all goes well.

Don't panic presh - it's sh*t being on Clexane but I've been really well looked after, the NHS are amazing. I've had regular appointments with the consultant from about 24 weeks and seen an anesthetist to talk through some things so it'll be okay. They'll want to induce you I expect, so they can tell you when to stop your injections because of blood loss etc, I'm just being stubborn because I don't want an induction!

I'm only 8 weeks with past dvt 15 years ago. Today is a bad day. I feel awful, I'm sitting here in tears. Everyone says how happy they have been and I just feel miserable. I've a sore chest that I finally now know what it is. Just feel shit. The injections are every day as you know, I've a bruised belly, I'm tired. I usually have a siesta in the day but didn't today as I haven't been sleeping well at night. Bloody hell, I am such a moan!!
I'm not in uk (originally yes, but now an expat) and they have appointments here every month for the first six months, 2 a month for month 7 and every week from 8 on!

I was 1cm for ages (almost 2 weeks for definite and possibly before that, but not sure as wasn't examined then).

I still needed to be induced, so definitely a chance of going to term. Hope all goes well for you.

I was 1cm for ages sweep didn't work, I went two weeks overdue and had 3 pessaries which eventually kicked things off.

Thanks ladies, I'll take a deep breathe now! I don't mind being induced if I have to be, but don't want to have the dreaded drip, so hoping either these sweeps, or the pessaries will be enough x
