Hi everyone, I've been having growth scans due to history, had one at 24 weeks and baby looked to be in 60th percentile. Fungal measurement with midwife last week was in line with that if not a little higher, however had one today at 28 weeks and baby has dropped to 11th percentile and they now want to scan every 2 weeks. Has this happened to anyone else? I know it is still within normal parameters, but can't help but feel a little anxious. X

Hi OP, please try not to worry!

My daughter was measuring in the 50th centile at her 20 week scan, we went for a routine scan at 36 weeks and she had dropped to the 11th centile. I don't smoke/drink (well, not throughout my pregnancy anyway) and my partner and I were both rather large babies so we were bemused as to why. I had an ultrasound two weeks later to check the growth and there still wasn't much in the way of change so they decided to book me in for an induction at 39 weeks. The doctor reassured me that it was unlikely the baby had any problems as the Doppler scan was good, meaning the baby had a good blood flow from the placenta. She was born slightly smaller than expected on the 5th centile but was absolutely perfect and didn't need any extra care. She's now 6 months and is between the 9th and 25th centile. In most cases where the baby is looking smaller on the scans, the baby is absolutely fine and they just need to be extra cautious. Wishing you luck Smile but I'm sure everything is fine and you are just carrying a perfect diddy baby like I was Flowers.
