Eggs benedict

Is what I'm craving. Is it safe to eat? The runny egg and hollandaise sauce make me assume no, but what about people who don't know their pregnant that still eat it? Will one meal be bad?
I'm 8weeks if it makes any difference.

There seems to be more and more advice suggesting that eggs with the red lion stamp are ok a little runny. I guess you'd have to make it yourself to be sure of the type of eggs.

I've eaten quite a few runny (lion stamped) eggs and have been fine 👍🏻 Is the hollandaise sauce cooked when it's being made? If so then that's fine too! Would just avoid completely raw eggs, e.g. In desserts etc

I was hoping to eat out at a local brunch spot with a friend. I may have to phone and ask so I don't have to ask in front of everyone, I bet they'll think I'm a real odd one!

If friend knows about the pregnancy, staff won't care. Just ask when you get there

And I can't imagine they're not buying lion stamped eggs in order to try and meet food standards rules

Local brunch spot - just give them a bell and find out where the eggs come from - sometimes restaurants use imported eggs rather than UK ones.

As long as the eggs are from the UK, you're fine, if they're from abroad, it can be a bit dodgier if they don't vaccinate their chickens there.

It's low enough risk that personally I'd be happy to eat it.

(Also it's my favourite:) )

My midwife told me that runny eggs are fine now (due to vaccinations, the risk is sufficiently low)

Thanks everyone!

@AnUtterIdiot I can only stomach stuff I really fancy at the mo, and eggs benedict happens to be that! Everything else I eat has to be cold and dry (aka carbs or fruit) at the mo. Off all hot food otherwise.
