Period like cramps

Hey guys!
So I've been struggling all of last night and today with period like cramps and pain in my tummy and lower back. It feels like the first day of a really heavy period which is the worst for me.
I'm 37+4 days.
Also had some yellowish mucus on the tissue paper when I wiped this morning but nothing else since!
Still have really bad back pain now and even a back rub isn't helping!
Any advice?

It sounds like the start of labour - the mucus could well have been some of your mucus plug coming away! If you're concerned then do get in touch with your midwife, though at 37+4 you're nearly full term, it might e reassuring :)
