ok so i was wondering if anyone else has been experiencing this. For about 4 days now i have been suffering terribly with amazingly painful baby movements which are in turn triggering bad contractions(ie tightening with pain) (be they true or false)They are so so strong, it feels like belly is gonna burst!. When it happens it really takes my breath away and i literally am in a lot of unbearable uncomfortableness (is that a word?) i have to stand up/move around etc to try and control the pain, though nothing stops it when it comes. Thing is i am slighlty hoping this is the beginning of something and was wondering if it sounded familiar to anyone? Also have an underlying belly ache which i can't shift either??? I did start timimg theses movements/contractions last night and they did regularise for a while but since then have been sporadic so am now confused. I know labour can start like this. What do u ladies out there think? Obviously if things get worse i'll ring my midwife, but for now opinions and advice much appreciated! xxx

Hi I would say that this is labour starting but wouldn't do much until you get contractions that are regular. Try the usual - bath etc. The pains you are getting are the baby moving into position ready for labour.
Good luck

Hmm, could be the start but I got runs of painful tightenings from about 38 weeks with my first (enough to strap on the TENs a couple of times) then still went a week overdue. Have been getting them this time since 35 weeks. I remember when labour proper finally started that it was very different and unmistakably labour.

If in doubt I'd speak to your midwife.
