Midwife appointments?

I'm just wondering if you generally see the same midwife throughout your pregnancy? Or if you can through request?

I miscarried in April just after my first appointment, and I didn't really gel with the midwife I saw.
I'm now pregnant again and saw a different midwife at my booking appointment today, she was really really nice. Put me at ease and explained everything much better.
I'd really like to see her again for my other appointments all being well. There's a team of seven in total there.

I know there are 2 different midwives at my doctors. The one I saw was really nice and we got on really well so she booked my appointments for me with her every time.

She also got my into to a couple of classes where there were other midwives I could talk to but I would still see her whenever I needed to.

All the best x

Ive only seen the same one as she is linked to my practice but she is lovely. They will normally take your worries into account, I have previous depression so explained I was concerned re PND and that I needed the same midwife that I felt comfortable talking to if I needed to. They were more than accommadating and have been wonderful. Just have a chat with her next time xx

Thanks both,
I've just had issues with not finding helpful gps/nurses when I have had previous problems, so I'm just so happy to find someone that makes it all seem less scary!

I had a few different ones for the first appts but I've seen the same one several times now, and it is MUCH easier, especially as we're monitoring my mood as well. And to not have to explain every bloody time about the growth scans for Zika/ why I've had weird appointment timing

I gave birth at a hospital in London and never saw the same person twice. They were all very nice, but it would have felt a little more personal to have a consistent point of contact

Totally agree Double: I am in London and am yet to see the same mw twice. Would much prefer to be able to foster more of a relationship! All very nice, but feels very impersonal.

First pregnancy in London I never saw the same one twice. This time I have gone for a private midwife so I see the same one and I think it is much better.

Seems like it's hit and miss, I guess there's no harm in asking when I book my next appointment.

I've seen a different one at each appointment so far but hoping that now I'm a bit further along maybe the next few will be a bit more consistent 🤞🏼

We are allocated one connected to our surgery. It's supposed to be the same person measuring growth for consistency so I'd be disappointed if they switched all the time.
