Hi there mummies, this is a bit of a weird & embarrassing one, I'm 32 weeks pg & have been experiencing restless labia (down there). Sound weird? I know. It feels just like restless legs. I've had the feeling on my spine a few times during pregnancy and now it seems to have moved to my labia, anyone else experience this? & what did you do about it? It's rather uncomfortable & making me feel like a bear with a sore head.

bumping for you.

i've never heard of this i'm afraid.

keeplaughing · 19/03/2007 12:35

Yikes, bumping also...what's it like??

nally · 19/03/2007 12:37

bump! not sure exactly what you mean....

tinkerbellhadpiles · 19/03/2007 12:39

bumping because it sounds funny (sorry)

fortyplus · 19/03/2007 12:41

What do they do? Do they actually move????? I know a lot of mums who've experienced what they describe as 'fanjo falling out' feeling in later pregnancy, especially 2nd time round. It goes away after the birth.

But 'restless'? That sounds odd.

lulumama · 19/03/2007 12:42

probably to do with increased blood flow and the pressure of the baby, making you feel a bit peculiar..are you sure you don;t have vulval varicosities? try wearing a sanitary pad to apply some pressure to the area, that might help

tinkerbellhadpiles · 19/03/2007 12:42

I would pay to see them dance just for rarity value

Sorry again!

nally · 19/03/2007 12:44

vulval varicosities? is that varicose veins in the you-know-where? i had one of those. very unsightly, not that i could see an awful lot of what was down there towards the end of the pregnancy with dd2. yuck. all back to normal now though, so if that is what you have, don't worry!

Snowi · 19/03/2007 16:22

Y'all do make me laugh . The labia aren't actually moving/dancing around (?!?). It's the same feeling you get in your legs before you yourself start moving them, sort of like pins & needles, but not quite.
Will check for vulval varicosities lulumama, thanks.

Perhaps you could soak them in some camomile tea to calm them down?

(Kidding... don't really do that!! )

Ah the joys of random pregnancy-related disorders! SO glad I'm done with all that!! Hope you get it sorted! Are you sure it's not thrush-related? Is there any soreness?

fortyplus · 19/03/2007 16:27

Reckon you just need to give 'em a twitch every now and then!

fortyplus · 19/03/2007 16:28

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldinghands - you know all those people who tell you 'Pregnancy isn't an illness'? I bet they'd think they were dying if they got all the weird symptoms without being pg, don't you?!

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldinghands · 19/03/2007 16:30

No kidding 40+.. I found pregnancy quite dire.. all three times.. but then I'm not really a mother Earth, barefoot-and-pregnant type!

fortyplus · 19/03/2007 16:33

I hated every minute of being pg, I can tell you.

keeplaughing · 20/03/2007 12:54

snowi, need an update, how are the labia behaving today?

Snowi · 22/03/2007 11:51

Hey there Keeplaughing, been doing a sitz bath with some essential oils, & it seems to have worked.
