I'm booked to have a private nuchal fold scan on sunday when I will be 12+5. My hospital booking appt and scan has come through for Monday when I will be 12+6. The hospital tell me that if I have had a NT scan, they wont give me oe on the NHS until 20 weeks.

The clinic where I am having my NT scan says that the hospital does this to save money.

Is it safe if I have my NT scan on sunday and then not say anything and have my NHS dating scan on monday? I want to be safe, but would really like to see my baby as much as possible...

the first nhs scan is usually for dating purposes. many hospitals don't offer it at all.

i should add... and then the 20 week scan is the thorough one that checks organs, measures bones etc.

Rhubarbp I would do exactly that. I have had 7 scans so far and one was the day after the first one.

I know what you mean and i would want to see my baby as much as possible. When I was having problems the sonographer told me there was no added danger to the baby having 2 scans close together. I would just keep quiet about the private one
