Bit gross - watery discharge

Sorry if this is a bit gross but need some advice. I have this kind of watery discharge, it's not creamy or anything like I have ever had before, but it just makes my kickers damp, it doesn't smell so great either. Do you think that this is normal or not?

how many weeks gone are you?

sputnik · 19/03/2007 11:46

Sounds like a slight infection. If it doesn't go away get your gp to give you something.

brimfull · 19/03/2007 11:48

are you late enough for waters leaking?

jellybeans · 19/03/2007 13:47

I would get it checked esp if you are in 2nd trimester.xx

foxybrown · 19/03/2007 13:49

Is it constant? How many weeks? put a pad in, make sure its not a trickle of wee (happened to me this morning ).

kittypower · 19/03/2007 14:16

i'm 18 weeks pregnant, I don't think it is a little bit of wee, but it kind of feels like that. It seems to be worse some days and then not much at all on others, do you think I should go to the doctor?

It could be urine leaking as your baby presses on your bladder - I had it with ds from time to time - lovey, hey? I'd get some light incontinence pads.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 19/03/2007 14:32

agree with mump. had slight incontinence with both.

lulumama · 19/03/2007 14:34

have your urine tested just in case....esp if smell is unpleasant.....too early for leaking waters and incontinence, really,so best to be checked out

lissielou · 19/03/2007 14:40

ask for a test for group b strep. i had something v simillar at the same stage and found out i was a carrier

kittypower · 19/03/2007 15:11

Can I get a group be strep test done at the doctors or do I need to go somewhere else for that?

some docs do it. its not a routine test so you will need to push for it. i had mine done at the hosp tho

kittypower · 19/03/2007 15:28

What did they give you for it, when you found out you were a carrier? and did the funny discharge clear up after that?

tbh (and this is the sticker) it went undetected in me dont know why coz it was def there on my notes. but theres a lot of info here i was unlucky, coz it went undetected the infection got into my uterus. you will have anti-biotics during labour if you are a carrier. its actually v common

lissielou · 19/03/2007 15:33

sorry. wasnt v clear in my earlier post!

jellybeans · 19/03/2007 15:43

Def go to docs if you can, better to be safe, I had watery discharge in my last pg and wasn't sure what it was, I also had pressure when standing for long periods, in my case it was part of the waters leaking-so although rare and it prob is not whats happening in your case, I would def get it checked xx

RTKangaMummy · 19/03/2007 15:49

DEFFO GET TO THE DOCTORS TO GET CHECKED FOR EARLY RUPTURE OF MEMBRANES

MINE STARTED TO LEAK AT 23 WEEKS

HOPE YOU ARE OK

kittypower · 19/03/2007 15:56

oh no i'm a bit worried now, i'll try and make an appointment for this week.

ooops sorry I had caps lock on and didn't look at screen looked at keys as I type

Didn't mean to frighten you

foxybrown · 19/03/2007 16:13

have you spoken to the midwife? Is there an antenatal clinic at the hospital? Our local hospital has a drop in first thing in the morning.

kittypower · 19/03/2007 16:18

I think I will give the midwife a call tonight and ask her what she suggests. I don't think our hospital has an antenatal clinic but it may do. it's quite hard to get an appt at my doctors.

give the hospital a call and check it out. you might be able to drop in. is it still happening?

IME GPs aren't much use in these things and refer you to the MV or hospital anyway!

Good luck, try not to worry.

kittypower · 20/03/2007 10:00

I called the midwife and she said that she thinks it a normal but heavy discharge and it is common to be watery but she said that I should go to A&E and get it checked out after work - I feel a bit like I am wasting their time as doesn't feel like an emergency, do you think i should just go anyway? It is much better today and not nearly so watery or heavy??

GO!!! I leaked urine for the last 2 months of 3rd preg but if it's not there's only one other possibility. GO. GO. GO.

NotanOtter · 20/03/2007 10:14

you need to be seen esp in pg - its symptomless you know unless mixed with semen so it will wax and wane...
