Chicken pox immunity?

Hi all
I'm 20 weeks pregnant tomorrow and I've had chicken pox before when I was 12.
My friends little boy who I was with yesterday has just come out in the spots.
I wondered if you know if I have to worry or not?
Thanks in advance

Have a chat with your midwives. I was working in a crèche during an outbreak and was able to get a blood test which confirmed I had immunity. It can be very serious if you do catch it so a big relief to know that you won't! (All the more so next time when you're pregnant with a toddler since they come into contact with every illness under the sun, I'm finding!)

Maybe speak to your midwife for reassurance but youre probably fine. A child at my school had it and I rang mine to check- Id had it when i was about 3/4, she asked was I definitely sure Id had it properly (I was- still remember being traumatiser by it!) and she said I was fine.. they can do tests as PP has said to check immunity if youre not sure or v worried so best always to ask.

You've had it, so you should be fine.

I was born with chicken pox (my mum caught it at the end of pregnancy) so was unsure if I had immunity when my DC caught it a few weeks ago.

Hospital used my booking in bloods and tested them in the lab( called the maternity unit)

It's really unlikely you aren't immune, given you've had it. 90-95% of the adult population have CP immunity according to the midwife I spoke to.

@xflipflopx
If you've had it there's no need to worry as you'll be immune

Thank you all for your replies.
I will call midwife just to confirm it from her.

If you've had it before you don't need to worry. If you hadn't had it then they'd have checked immunity in your booking in blood tests - it's VSV immunity on your notes.
