Bugaboo bee - cocoon or carrycot?

We're getting a Bee as we need a very narrow pushchair. I can't decide whether to buy the cocoon or the carrycot.

The cocoon is cheaper, but the carrycot could be used for downstairs naps (although I think someone might be lending me a Moses basket).

Both seem pretty expensive for something baby could outgrow quite quickly. Baby is due late September so will be using these over the winter months, if that makes any difference.

Any thoughts?

I have done both, as carry cot wasn't available with my first child. The carry cot is much better than the cocoon and definitely promotes better napping! You can easily remove it from the pram too so you can move a sleeping baby to wherever you need if you so desire. I bought one second hand for £60 from eBay as they do only last a few months, and tend to be in near pristine condition.

In summary, carry cot is just so much better.

Thanks. I am considering getting a second hand career cot if I do get one, as £200 is far too much for a few months! They seem to be about £100 at the moment. As an aside, does anyone know if the older style (Bee 3) carrycot will fit the Bee 5?

Anyone know where I could get a new mattress to fit a second hand carrycot? I've looked on Bugaboo's website and googled it but not turning up much

Sorry one other thing, does anyone know if the carrycot is actually approved for supervised day time naps?

You should get a carrycot mattress on eBay or Amazon. I bought a second hand maxi cosi carrycot off ebay which has a shaped mattress and was able to buy a new mattress from Amazon for £10

Thanks Emma, think I've found one on Amazon.

Just bumping quickly as I've found a carrycot oh Gumtree and considering buying but would like to know if it can be used safely for supervised day time naps (not overnight sleeping). Does anyone know? Thanks
