Sore bump - 39 weeks

I'll be 39 weeks tomorrow.

Yesterday I started to get pains across my bump - not contraction pains and no tightening along with them - but more sharp pains that came and went.

This morning I have woken up and one particular area of my bump is very tender, sore to the touch and when I cough etc. I could almost swear it was smaller too??

This is my second DC and do t recall having this at all with DD.

Any ideas?

I would get it checked out. It sounds unusual.

Might be your abdominal muscles creaking and stretched to the limit.

I've started to get period like pains so think it's all just part and parcel with my body getting ready for labour!

Yes maybe it's kicking off! Fingers crossed x

I've just realised, went swimming with DD on Friday morning and hoisted myself not so gracefully out of the pool a couple of times - think I must just have sore muscles from that!!

Oh yeah, the beached whale flop. I've done that 😂

SleepForTheWeek · 04/06/2017 09:34

I hope I don't go into labour until my muscles have recovered as even coughing is sore never mind pushing a baby out!!

Sounds like you could be right- why not confirm it with your midwife. Checking things in later stages is always a good idea.Just in case. You might even get some helpful advice, or support belt, if it is your muscles.
All the best

No harm in checking with your midwife - good luck - I've just had a dreadful cough and all my muscles are sore I couldn't push a baby now either! Although I had sections 😂 good luck with your birth

Thanks - still quite sore today but loads of BH and crampy pains so I'm hoping labour not too far away

Phoned MW and went up to get checked. Everything seems fine, baby was lying b2b and has now turned slightly so it's maybe just where he/she was lying is a bit tender. Have got a tubi grip on now to see if that helps any

Thanks for update.
So glad all is well.
Hope rest of your pregnancy is not too sore.
Best wishes for smooth arrival
