Carrying threadworms doesn't do you or your baby any harm : it's just an annoyance. We had threadworms in the family when I was pregnant too and with good hygiene and by treating the rest of the family, it eventually ran its course. No need to panic.

A few weeks I think. It didn't particularly bother me. The itching was annoying but not that bad. It's spread very easily - if a child has it on their hands through scratching, it can get everywhere. The eggs can also transfer onto clothing and bed linen and may then become airborne when you change the sheets or wash the clothes of an infected person so it's easy to get infected if you're the person who does the laundry.
