Id go. If you do go into labour there, dd stays with your folks and you and dh hot foot it to the nearest maternity hospital.

Parents take dd home with them, hand over to your inlaws. You and dh taxi home with the baby or ask a favour of a friend to come get (id do this for my friends).

People saying they went from noting to fully dilated in 3 hours, surely you were in established labour, it didn't just happen out of the blue without you noticing? If the OP starts labour then of course she and her DP and child should come home straight away in a taxi or if they haven't yet gone, cancel the trip, but very few people I know of go from no symptoms at all to giving birth in the space of a few hours. You should have time to drop your older child off at your inlaws if it's been pre-arranged and then carry on to hospital in a taxi. Yes, it'll cost more but it's most likely that you won't need this emergency plan of action as you're still 3 weeks from your due date.

Nenny yep with me I went from fed up and pregnant with no signs of anything, to mild contractions, to examination by midwife saying I was 2-3cm, to baby in 4 hours. My first was quick too.

No really it was like being hit with a sledgehammer - nothing, no show, no pain, then suddenly I was having contractions. My contractions were over a minute and only 3 minutes apart when they started. I got 1.5 minutes between the first two then a max of 45 seconds between them from then on. I didn't have a clue what was happening. Luckily my midwife for no 1 was brilliant and sussed from my phone call what was happening (when I told her there was no point me coming in as I'd only been in labour for 30 mins she told me very firmly that I would be coming straight in!). Her words when she checked me were 'you're going to go like a steam train'. She was right (for the first part anyway, the pushing was another story).
Same with no2, unfortunately my midwife for no2 was rubbish but luckily I knew what was going on from the first time.

What gestation was your DD born at?

How long were you in labour for with your first DC?

Would your DD cope with travelling two hours away without her Mummy or Daddy and being a flower girl which could well be quite an exciting and nerve wracking experience for her?

If you have to send her on her own would anyone at the wedding stay sober enough to look after her?

Would your DD be upset about not getting to be flower girl?

My two were both born after therr due dates, so I am unsure about this, but is a 37 weeker always allowed out of hospital soon after birth? Could baby end up needing a few days in hospital to establish feeding, temp control etc?

Good luck with your decision. It is a tricky situation.

if it wasn't your brother then defo no! but seen as it is i know your getting a lift but does you OH drive?

if so i'd go but make him drive but maybe get checked again the day before the wedding and if your more than 2cm i wouldn't go your brother would understand i'm sure
