Hello everyone,

Well yesterday my Dr signed me off for an initial 6 weeks and said I won't be going back to work before the baby arrives. I have always had a bad hip since birth due to a birth defect (I was born without any joint muscles in one hip which has made it weak and tender) my weight on this hip is now causing servere pain which means I can barely walk and therefore, can't work.

I feel so down because I now face the prospect of 12 weeks being off with nothing to do!

I love my job so that's another aspect that is upsetting plus the financial implications!!

Please tell me someone else out there is off too????

With my DS (now 3) I was off from when I was 14 weeks pregnant! That was a long pregnancy.

I'm currently 28 weeks pregnant with DC2 and things are much the same. I was on reduced duties from about 12 weeks, reduced hours from about 16 weeks and then I've been off since about 22 weeks.

My advice is make the most of it!!

When I was off with DS1 for 25 weeks I felt bored at times but in hindsight I wish I'd made the most out of being job free and baby free Smile I would do anything to have those 25 weeks back now and live them again Grin

I just lost my job - contract was expected to last til end of July but has ended early. I'm due end of September and won't get another contract now for less than three months. I'm trying to look on the bright side but the thought of not working for four months does feels weird... I'm not ill or anything so I will try and do some odd jobs and get a bit of cash in. And watch tv, batch cook, read, do my fiance's ironing Grin
