We started around 20 weeks. But I had an Amazon wish list going from the afternoon I got my BFP!

I was dying to start buying baby stuff early on, but made myself put it off to a sensible time. I'm now almost 23 weeks and aside from buying a few baby grows, the desire to shop has mysteriously died down. Think I'll buy the big purchases in July

I ordered the moses, carrier & most bity bits at around 27 weeks this time, we've done it between then & 30 weeks with the older dc too. Not so early that it's cluttering everything up for months but not so late that I can't be arsed to sort it Grin

Any time after 12 weeks! We had most of our stuff by 20 weeks Smile

I intend to do baby shopping towards end of second trimester. Only reason I don't want to wait till 3rd is I've been reading the first trimester horridness can come back by third trimester and if that's the case I will not be in the mood for anything. Otherwise I would happily leave it later.

Not until 34 weeks. I had 2 miscarriages and didn't feel it was real until she was about 2 months old 😂 and I didn't want to tempt fate. Congratulations on your pregnancy 😊

We started just after my 12 week scan but also because that fell in the new year when all the sales were on and we didn't want to miss out on the bargains. My sister got her pram and furniture at around 8 weeks also because she found herself a bargain not to be missed.
We didn't build the furniture until I was 25 weeks, and took the pram to my mums so not to 'jinx' ourselves but it helps spread cost out buying bits when you can and we are pleased we did as when I look back at what we have spent there's no way we could have afforded to do that in one shop or after I finished for maternity.

I think I was about 32 weeks this time around.

With my first I was 12 weeks

Carlz84 · 01/06/2017 21:03

If I were you I would keep an eye out for sales and just pick things up as you go along. That way you get some bargains, it's less stressful and you don't have to pay for it all in one go.

Thank you Smile

I felt comfortable after the 20 week scan. I'd had a miscarriage previously so just felt a bit anxious about buying stuff before that. The night after I had my scan I was online shopping for bargains Grin have bought things bit by bit since then, when they've popped up in the sale etc.

Emma2803 · 01/06/2017 22:42

With ds I bought his pram when I was 11 weeks! It was a bargain!! I'm 9 weeks with #2 and so far I've bought a carrycot for the pram (didn't have one first time round) dummies and teats for the bottles! Won't need a lot really, pram sheets, new mattress for cot bed (big bed for ds) and clothes if baby is a girl.

I was bought a few baby clothes for my birthday, at 16 weeks.

We started doing our travel system search then (didn't take v long as we ruled most out on ridiculous price!) and ordered that around 20 weeks.

Moses basket is coming from BIL/ SIL this weekend (if they remember) but this will be its 8th baby and its last by the sounds of it (no, they do not have 7 kids, it's been passed around!). Changing table came from them beginning of march sometime.

Clothes, I've bought cute bits as i've seen them, mostly 0-3 months then a few newborn bits in case bean is smaller than growth scans seem to be implying. Bought some bits in mothercare sale, including an expressing/ bottle/ steriliser kit at half price as I am intending to try and get some milk for DH to do the odd feed.

then had a flap I had nothing about 30 weeks so bought a bouncer etc. We're renting a bednest sidecar cot for first six months and MIL will be buying nursery furniture sometime for us, just not had time to arrange a visit and we won't need it til after xmas anyway.

Nappies etc, this last week or so as didn't want the sticky to wear out. And lots of cotton wool pads since wipes aren't recommended to start with.

Still feel like I don't have enough stuff....
