I am expecting our third boy this year and I am really stuck for name ideas! I only ever had one favourite boys name, which I used on my first!

I would like something to go with my other boys - Zack and Kai. Different and nice but not too weird.

What do you think will go with those names?
The only name we have come up with is Theo.

I also like Elijah, but my mum wasnt too keen on it!

Any ideas gratefully received!

Theo is lovely and goes really well with your other ds's. What about Finn or Rory?

taylormama · 18/03/2007 09:58

if you like the name does it matter if your mum isn't keen? When we named our son, my dad was very and now he loves it - i think Theo is gorgeous, what about Milo/Miles ... Sam is a great boys name ... i know it isn't unusual but it is nice

JenumGeranium · 18/03/2007 10:01

I agree, Sam is a lovely name but we have one in the family already! Finn is nice too but I do know a few Finns! Miles is also one of my hubbys cousins and Milo would make me think of the Tweenies! Lol!

I also like Max but this is quite popular now!

Me and my mum made a deal - she liked the name Isaac but I am not too keen so I said I would'nt call him Isaac or Elijah!

How about Enzo, or Vito? Would Eli be a compromise that would please your mum?

tortoiseSHELL · 18/03/2007 10:05

Theo is lovely, goes really nicely. Other ones I can think of;

Oscar
Fenn
Gabriel
Sol

LaDiDaDi · 18/03/2007 10:08

Seth
Arlo
Rufus
Spike

i love theo, also like leo, linus, lucas

grouchyoscar · 18/03/2007 10:10

Elijah is fine, if you are happy with that then you go for it.

Naming of DCs...I always think go for something you like, something that reflects you, something you feel comfy with. Oh and something they can grow with, that won't seems ludicrous when they are 18. I always think save the 'strange' name for the middle name (eg...DS has a perfectly servicable first name but his middle name is a friend's surname that reminds us of a 'moment' before ds was born. I'm very 'fascist' about it really but working in childcare you see some of the names a poor DC is saddled with for life and think 'Oh!'

Right, that's me set to be shot down in flames on MN...time to choose an new alias,

Zack, Kai and Elijah...what's wrong with that?

JenumGeranium · 18/03/2007 10:10

Tbh I think its the fact that he would probably end up being called Eli that she doesnt like! She said something about a character in Last of the Summer Wine being called Eli and he's not nice! Lol!

The only Eli I know is the one in Emmerdale!

Theo is looking good, especially if you think it goes with my other 2!

I share grouchyoscar's sentiments on this one.

I also really Theo!

grouchyoscar · 18/03/2007 10:15

We had Linus as an idea, it's just lovely. Would have suited DS too.

Theo is smashing too

I think if you like the name, then your Mum will get used to it and probably will end up liking it. At least that's what happened with ds2. I mentioned his name (Noah) early on in my pregnancy and there were groans of distaste, so I didn't mention it again and when he was born, we just announced his name and now they love it.

I think Elijah is a lovely name, as is Theo, so go with what suits and feels comfortable to you.

WestCountryLass · 18/03/2007 16:53

Having a Zach and an Isaac would be anyway so I say go fo Elijah!

Another Biblical nme would fit with your otherchildrens names: Simeon? Toby? Gabriel?

JenumGeranium · 19/03/2007 08:27

Thanks for your suggestions guys!

At least I have a bit of time to have a good think about it!

Thanks again! xx
