Hi, got my booking appointment Friday when I'll be 9+1. Will the midwife be able to hear the heartbeat with the Doppler or am I too early? Had a scan last week so know there is a heartbeat Smile

They don't start using the Doppler until the 16 week appointment - the booking appointment is mainly filling in a questionnaire + urine test and blood sample.

Congratulations!

Don't think they even try at booking appointment.

I heard heartbeat at 16 weeks midwife appointment, but it's done with the proviso that if it couldn't be found, they couldn't request an extra scan because they don't rely on Doppler for heart beat until 24 weeks - its tricky to find as the baby is so small before that.

Thank you. Just curious what to expect really. Wouldn't think I'd had 3 children already...but it was a loooong time ago! My eldest is 21 and youngest 18 now Wink
