Hi everyone wondering if someone could help, I'm 17+2 and absolutely petrified at the thought of birth I know our body's are made to do it but I just don't think I could handle it. Previously had a miscarriage and the expierience was so painful and traumatic. It was asthough I had labour contractions every few minutes and I couldn't cope. Wanted to know if I could opt for a c section and if I was aloud would this be the best option for me. Thank you :) x

Yes, you can opt for a CS. It sounds as though some counselling and support would be beneficial too before you decide one way or the other though. You may want to look into doula support for VB as well as CS information.

The NICE guidance on CS for maternal request is here: www.nice.org.uk/guidance/cg132/chapter/1-Guidance
Section 1.2.9 is the relevant one. It includes information on maternal anxiety and support you should be offered prior to making a final decision.
