Hi, i have a question and can't find many answers anywhere so can someone please share any helpful answers/let me know if they have had it done or what..
basically last year i had a late MC at 19weeks and they found out the cause was BV & Strep B. So this time they have been keeping a close eye on me and i tested earlier in this pregnancy around 16 weeks maybe i think it was and i was positive again for Strep B.
Im currently 37w+6 now and at my 37 week appointment with midwife i did a swab & it came back as negative for strep B. But as of last pregnancy, I'll be getting antibiotics in labour just to be safe.
My consultant had spoken to me about getting an induction around 40 weeks and for a membrane sweep at docs at 39w. But i've read that it can be harmful incase the strep b is there it can travel up into the uterus? But i thought it was only dangerous once the waters broke.. plus i had vaginal scans from 16 week onwards up to 30 weeks anyways to check cervical measurements. So surely it cant cause any harm? Im in two minds now because i would really like baby to come himself but then i would like to get the membrane sweep so hopefully that would start labour off rather than being induced. So stressed and confused on what to do...
