Early labour???

Hi, just looking for some advice / stories if possible.
I'm a first time mum, currently 37+6 weeks pregnant. For the last three days I've had an increase in lower back aches, it's not exactly painful just dull and uncomfortable, occasionally I will have braxton hicks. Today I have had the lower back ache all day! Even though the midwife told me last week that the baby is back to back usually my back aches are just under my shoulder blades. I've had some slight pressure on the pelvic bone on and off today, nothing too major. I don't want to get in contact with the hospital as I'm really unsure whether this is early labour or not. Any help would be appreciated ☺️ thankyou

Doesn't sound likely but you never know.

Is there a reason you need to be in contact with the hospital early in labour? Is it because of baby's position?

If not just see how it progresses. My first I had contractions very close together...think 3 mins ish but when I got to hospital was only 3cm. Obviously they were not strong enough and came home. They stopped overnight then ramped up the next day. Pain intensity was completely a different level so knew I needed to go in and was 5.5cm when I got there. DD born 3 hours later.

Everybody is different though and some do labour in their back I believe and if concerned definitely ring the hospital.

I am 39+ 5 today with number 2 and have had what you have described for weeks but with a lot more down below pressure. I am still waiting 😬 good luck

There's no specific reason for me to be in contact with the hospital, the midwife has always told me that if anything new occurs to ring them.
I'm not particularly concerned just fed up of waiting now haha.

I'm just quite impatient because I haven't felt this back ache before other than the last few days, and I like to know exactly what's going on.
And wow you haven't got long left now then hopefully! Hope all goes well

I had similar and it turned out to be a water infection. Even my nct leader thought I was in early labour due to the back ache.
