Some background: over 35 yr, had natural MC last year, natural pregnancy, no twins in my family or my husband's.

My first scan at around 9 wks showed 3 sacs (large, medium and small) with the largest with a healthy baby. Went for another scan at 10 wks, baby has grown but the two empty sacs still there. Didn't look like they are disappearing or shrinking :-( The sonographer and Dr said they might disappear later on, but they couldn't say anything more than that.

I am really happy to see a healthy baby but also really concerned that the remaining empty sacs might complicate the pregnancy. Has anyone experienced similar thing? What happens if the empty sacs stay throughout the pregnancy?

I miscarried a twin and the twin sac took until 14 weeks to completely go. I bled as it depleted and the bleeding stopped once the sac had completely gone.
