Currently 30 weeks pregnant and am feeling increasingly anxious that things might be going wrong - I think it's all down to the fact that the last scan was at 20 weeks and then the last 20 weeks you just go off kicks etc.

I've been having some feelings/symptoms that I just wanted to check are 'normal':

  • increased discharge/wetness, I keep worrying this is amniotic fluid leaking
  • increased aches and pains, particularly hips, lower back and abdomen, feeling quite a lot of pressure
  • pain in abdomen when walking, especially stabby pains on my lower left between my hipbone and pubic area
  • feeling hot a lot of the time (very normal probably)
  • being incredibly tired - the other day I slept for 13 hours without even realising it, woke up at like 3 in the afternoon Shock

Go and get checked out. Most of that sounds very similar to me at 30 weeks and as far as I know all normal BUT you are not wasting anyone's time and it's perfectly reasonable and sensible to see your midwife and put your mind at rest Smile

I do remember at 30 weeks I sort of hit a wall and felt about 100 times worse than I had been (sorry) but it was just usual get big and uncomfortable end of pregnancy stuff. The end is in sight! Rest as much as you can

Sounds normal. The things to watch out for are sudden stabbing pains or reduced movement.

I feel like this too and I'm 30+3. I'd call your midwife or gp though just to check it's all normal pregnancy stuff, you could easily have thrush for example or need to see a maternity physio. Sending you Flowers I had a cry at the weekend about feeling like this until the end of July.

I'd say i've had all of that in the last few weeks (i'm now 36 weeks) I find the achy, stabby pains are if I've pushed myself too hard (lifting, cleaning, bending etc).

However, saying that, if you feel something isn't right - ask to be checked out. Always better to be reassured than to be anxious wondering if you are doing the right thing.

Funnily enough I was coming on here to ask one of the same questions. I am 29 +3 and am starting to really suffer with the pain in the groin area. Like a bruised pain. Also thought it could be pressure as baby is constantly head down and quite low. Is this normal?
I do get the hip pain too but find sleeping with a pillow between my legs helps a lot. I also feel quite warm but am putting it down to normal to be honest. I'm pretty sure I have been told that being pregnant increases your blood flow also add to the hormones and therefore you get the hot flashes and "furnace" moments. I'm however a little jealous of your 13 hours sleep. I find it difficult to stay asleep for more than 2-3 hours at a time. I'm tired but wake frequently during the night to wee! I will be interested to know how many mummies to be suffered with the same pain/discharge. I think I was half expecting it but maybe not as early as 29 weeks?

That all sounds very normal, I have had all of the above once I had 30 weeks+, the last trimester is so hard. With DS1 I was convinced I was leaking I had so much discharge but the tests came back negative.

But get checked out all the same, it's worth the peace of mind.
