Has anyone has like lower abdo kinda niggles? I'm 18 weeks kinda feel it more when I move x

Anna2006 · 21/08/2017 11:22

Is it maybe like growing pains @AmandaP86x ?? I kind of get few shorting pains in side and my back tends to hurt for a while after aswell. An then it will go away. Think it's fairly normally and just everything stretching an making room. It also really hurts if I sneeze!

I'm 16+1 today and bump is deff appearing so all mine is having a good old stretch!

Dollydaydream2829 · 21/08/2017 12:10

Hi ladies,

Your weekend sounds lovely amanda excepting the back pain of course. My DH and I are trying to arrange a last minute break away at end of this month just as it'll be the last time just the two of us. As for the back pain, I think it's unfortunately quite normal in pregnancy to get random aches & pains - you've not got any symptoms of a UTI or anything? I tend to get more upper back pain, which is a nuisance.

Sounds like you had a busy weekend baking - I can only imagine how much stuff you had to take. That's what my mummy friends have been warning me about - you can't just nip anywhere or have an unplanned day out without packing every single thing but the kitchen sink! Haha!

Aww it's a lovely feeling when you see your bump showing for the first time anna - I couldn't stop smiling at first cos it was prob then that I first felt pregnant for real haha!

Yeh @Anna2006 it's really like low down like see even when I'm putting the clutch down on my car it can feel it! I'm sure it's just muscular but it's so sore 🙈

BellaMoon · 21/08/2017 13:25

@AmandaP86x is is dull or sharp shooting? i had sharp shooting paints in lower abdo and put it down to potential urine infection as it was like i had held a pee in for ages. had my pee dipped and it definitely wasn't an infection. good old google reassured me that it's ligament realignment and can range from dull crampish like pains to sharp shooting pains like a UTI. that was probably around 18-20 weeks.

hope it passes for you but no harm in testing your urine just to make sure too x

bakingmad83 · 21/08/2017 21:00

Nice you got away for the night Amanda. I still get sharp pains occasionally - these ones tend to be either side of lower abdo, very short-lived - which I've always put down to ligaments. Mw warned me at first appointment that this was esp common in subsequent pregnancies, as everything has been stretched before. Not sure if I had them first time round, but still sometimes get the "fanny daggers" that I certainly remember when pregnant with DS! Hope you enjoy yoga :)

Hope you get your short break booked Dolly :) Enjoyed our night away, but was tiring, as did so much and DS difficult to settle last night and tonight with all the excitement/different things/people/places. Sure trips away get easier once they're a bit older. My parents never took me away till I was 4, I can understand why!

Roseandbee · 21/08/2017 21:15

Hi Missmagpie! great to see you here, congratulations! The early weeks were very stressful for me also but Ive felt a lot better since my 12 week scan and times gone quicker since then too.

Sorry ive been awol for awhile, im glad everyone is doing well babywise

I'm still not feeling great, im either sick or tired or both. My mum is convinced my iron is low as she had anemia with me, but i guess i have a bit of a wait till they actually test it. You will have to let me know how the iron tablets go Dolly, are they prescription? i know some types of iron supplements arent as good as others in terms of being absorbed.

Anna i think im going for the cosatto wow as well, mothercare often do an offer where they include the car seat for free, so i'm waiting for that to come round again.

Glad you scan went well Bella, ive got my next week. Ive also just started feeling the baby move now. if i put my hand on it i can feel it a little bit outside too, although i thought it was too early for that. Im 18+3

Im also decluttering, well when im not sick or tired.

Anna2006 · 21/08/2017 21:45

Oh how exciting exciting about starting to feel movement @Roseandbee I can't wait to feel something. I'm only just 16w though so still to early for me. At my early scan aswell they mentioned my placenta was at the front so anterior. Altho they did say it can move back a bit by 20 weeks. So not sure if I may not feel movement until later. Anyone whose had 20 week scan have anterior placenta there aware of?

What pattern are you going for on the cossato @rose? Think I remember you saying you liked the fjord too. It is such an easy pram to use an the pattern is lovely in real life. I think as the wow is new they've incorporated loads of feedback into it so it's so parent user friendly. I'm hoping to grab it when the car seat offer is on too as no faffing with adaptors as it clips straight onto the chassis doesn't it. We're still gonna look at some other prams we haven't viewed yet but I'm very tempted! If only we could have 3 prams for depending what sort of day we were having 😂😂

bakingmad83 · 22/08/2017 07:03

Sorry you still aren't feeling great Rose. They will have checked your blood count at 12 weeks, but if you think you could be anaemic, nothing stopping you going to docs beforehand, as long time to wait for more bloods at 28 weeks.

I had anterior placenta with DS Anna, but not this time. For me it didn't really seem to affect feeling movements, but neither time have I felt anything till kicks at 19 weeks - everyone seems to reckon you feel your 2nd earlier, but obviously not me.

Dollydaydream2829 · 22/08/2017 08:27

I have an anterior placenta anna - i didn't feel proper movements until about 22weeks but it's either moved or he/She is now so strong, I can feel as if they're gonna pop right through my belly at times haha!

As for the iron rose, so far no problems but then I've only been taking them 3 days. They're prescription tablets. Not noticed too much benefit either in terms of feeling less tired but hopefully that'll come soon.

bakingmad83 · 22/08/2017 10:23

Hopefully you'll feel benefit soon Dolly, but it will probably be weeks rather than days, as can take a while to get your iron levels up, so don't be surprised if you need several prescriptions worth of iron tablets. Sometimes you'll need to continue for a bit after pregnancy too.

MissMagpie · 22/08/2017 19:07

Oh ladies I am broken. I started spotting on Sunday. Was seen by the Early Pregnancy unit and they said it was a threatened miscarriage and sent me home to keep an eye on things.
Yesterday I started cramping and had the hugest bleed. I went to A&E and just kept bleeding. They kept me in overnight and this morning I passed the foetus andall thepregnancy material.
I am home now, signed off work and utterly devastated and exhausted. I am being referred to the recurrent miscarriage clinic and having all the genetic tests done on the foetus. It's so unfair.

Moo31 · 22/08/2017 19:30

@Magpie I just read your update on the conception thread and I am heartbroken for you. I am so so sorry that you are going through this. Life is so cruel. I am so sorry Flowers

bakingmad83 · 24/08/2017 10:39

Morning ladies. Had my 28 week appointment first thing. Thankfully no glucose in wee this morning - didn't have any carbs after tea last night and only had one breakfast this morning just in case it was what I'd eaten last time. Baby now head down, but midwife said they aren't bothered about position till 36 weeks really. Measuring slightly small at 27cm, but said she'd just keep an eye on that. Any more appointments or scans coming up soon for any of you?

AmandaP86x · 24/08/2017 11:27

Hey @bakingmad83 oh that's fab. I am a bit scads about that test haha. I have been absolutely ravenous these past few days like nothing is filling me up😳 starting to feel a bit guilty about my lack of fruit and veg!!! Just kinda went off it!!! Lots of stuff makes my stomach turn the now 😟

Glad ur app went well. I have my 20 week scan on 6th September I really can't wait. I feel like after that I can start to buy stuff and get half organised lol! Xx

bakingmad83 · 24/08/2017 12:46

I'm sure you're just so hungry cos your body needs it - that's what I keep telling myself! I know they reckon the extra 200kcal comes into play in the last trimester, but sure that's a generalisation and some of us need extra much sooner :) And you can't make yourself eat things you can't stomach. Pretty much back to normal here, though can't have anything garlicy and still fussy re meat. Hopefully you'll still fancy the things you're used to eating :) Not long till your 20 week scan and then the excitement of buying all the baby stuff begin :) Not that there's anything wrong in buying earlier, but like you, first time round I was very cautious.

Anna2006 · 24/08/2017 12:52

I had my 16 week midwife appointment this morning although I'm nearly 17 weeks. Heart was beating away so feeling very happy about that 😍

My 20 week scan is 19th sept so like Amanda then feel like I can get a bit more sorted.

Looking forward to enjoying the bank hol weekend. I have dear friend getting married and looks like it will be lovely weather!

AmandaP86x · 24/08/2017 13:25

@Anna2006 my 16 week app was a bit of a disappointment. I was in and out in 5 mins. Took my BP asked how I was feeling and that was it! Lol x

BellaMoon · 24/08/2017 20:05

lovely to hear your updates ladies!

my 16wk appointment was quick too ladies. but my 20wk scan lasted almost an hour. i loved it. you'll see so much detail and hear all about the baby's organs, limbs and brain. love love loved it. can't wait to see your scan pics girls!

i'm still surviving on snacks and fruit. i don't really eat a meal unless i'm out and it's plopped down infront of me. my skin has broken down again, v v spotty which i'm putting down to hormones and poor veg intake. i am managing around 2lt of water each tho thank goodness.

i don't have any more appointments til i get my GTT appointment through at 28wks and then iv to see midwife a week later. so ill be quiet on that front for another 3-4 weeks.

one development for me is that i finally have a bump that doesn't just look like a podgy belly! i hadn't seen the director of my company for about a week and he saw me yesterday and just pointed "where did that come from". i laughed and he continued "well i know what you did but my god, iv blinked and you're huge". ehhh thanks, i
think!!

my boss signed off my mat leave whilst he was on night shift. i saw him today for the first time and he said "bet you filled that in with a tear in your eye".... nope i certainly did not! i am definitely getting my head around finishing up work. 3 months left of my sentence haha

weekend plans any1? i have a hen night on Saturday... it's quite a drive away so i won't be there long but i'll enjoy seeing some people that i haven't seen for ages. xxx

bakingmad83 · 24/08/2017 21:10

Lovely you got to hear heartbeat Anna :)

Think it's only booking appointment that really takes any time - unless there's probs or you want to discuss something. Otherwise it's just bp, urine sample, heartbeat and then usually fundal height from 28 weeks.

Good to hear you're now sporting a nice bump Bella :) Was funny yesterday was told within the space of an hour I was "having a big baby" and "small for just 3 months to go". Turns out I am a bit on the small side - my bump seems to almost disappear when I lay down, but I guess the me is still able to feel top of uterus for doing the measurement.

Enjoy the wedding Anna and hen do Bella. Keep forgetting it's bank hol - think it's just with not going out to work, remember looking forward to the extra day off when I worked in NHS, as our service didn't cover weekends or bank hols. DH is working nights tomo and Saturday, so may do something as a family Sunday afternoon.

Roseandbee · 24/08/2017 22:36

@missmagpie I am so sorry! I hope you get some answers and I'm so sorry this pregnancy journey has been so hard for you so far, it isn't fair but i hope that one day soon you can look back on it and feel it was worth it. In the meantime take care of yourself, your in our thoughts xxx
