Ovarian follicle during pregnancy!

Has anybody had this - I had an early scan today because I was bleeding, everything is fine with the baby, but they spotted a large follicle in my ovary, anybody had this?

Are follicles the things that release the eggs?

I have been getting twinges with it too, but just put that down to normal pregnancy aches and pains!

What did they say about it at the scan? Are you going to have another egg floating about? Do not have sex between now and delivery?

Do you mean a corpus luteum cyst?

I think they must have meant the corpus luteum cyst which should be there as it is responsible for the production of the progesterone in the first trimester. I don't know what happens to it in the 2nd trim - does it dissolve away maybe? How far along are you?
You won't be producing any eggs from it so don't worry about that.
I was shown mine at 6 weeks and it was nearly 2cm diameter I think.
