Linea Negra old wives tale

Hi
Just wondering if there's any truth between the linea negra line and sex of the baby??

Did anyone have the line go past the belly button and have a boy like the old wives tale states? Or is this all a load if rubbish?! 😂😂

I think it's prob. nonsense....
Mine went way past and I had a girl.

dementedpixie · 18/05/2017 19:49

I never got one with either of mine - one boy, one girl

savagehk · 18/05/2017 19:51

how do you see past your belly button...? Grin

Elkalv · 18/05/2017 22:58

Mine is matching )

Herbie22 · 19/05/2017 10:43

Mine didn't and had a girl. Bloody thing is still hanging around though! Do they disappear eventually.

BearGryllsHasaBigRope · 19/05/2017 11:04

I never had one and I've had boys and girls!

tiba · 19/05/2017 11:28

I had the below the belly button line from quite early on.

It now extends all the way up my belly and that happened at about 24 weeks or so.

I'm now 37 weeks and still have no idea what sex the baby will be.

I've also got the chloasma mask too! 😬

Maggy74653 · 19/05/2017 14:11

Mine went above and I had a girl x

TeaTeaTea · 19/05/2017 21:49

Mine went a little above belly button and I had a boy. Did eventually disappear but it took a while, I BF though and they say it takes longer if you BF.....hormones I guess?

Oh just wrote the above before looking at my 25 week pregnant belly - with a girl - and a faint line goes waaaaay above belly button so guess that dispproves the wives tale for me Grin

SockQueen · 19/05/2017 22:09

I didn't have one and had a boy.

DramaAlpaca · 19/05/2017 22:11

I never had one in any of my three pregnancies. All were boys.

fuzzywuzzy · 19/05/2017 22:14

I didn't have one with my two DD's.

Have a one which goes all over my belly and I'm expecting a DD.

CJCreggsGoldfish · 19/05/2017 22:17

Hmmm, I don't think if realised before reading this thread, but I had one with DD, but didn't with DS.

GrouchyKiwi · 19/05/2017 22:18

I didn't have one with any of my three pregnancies. All girls.

GwendolynMary · 19/05/2017 22:19

I had one that went from boobs to pubes in each pregnancy. One boy, one girl.

lazycrazyhazy · 19/05/2017 22:21

I didn't have one with any of mine of either sex.

SpunBodgeSquarepants · 19/05/2017 22:29

My 3-year-old DS has always had one. As far as I know, he's not even pregnant.

I don't think they mean anything.

sugarplumfairy2010 · 19/05/2017 22:38

Im pregnant with a little girl and mine goes up to just under my boobs.

savagehk · 22/05/2017 09:08

Managed to look under bump, the line under bump is darker/wider than the line above. Will let you know if it's a boy or girl asap Grin

Tattybogle89 · 22/05/2017 10:43

I had one under bump only and had boy. It faded off but is still visible 6 years later

Twixes · 22/05/2017 12:28

Had a really dark one with DS and none at all now and i'm expecting a girl. I got a very good tan while pregnant with DS so that might have some bearing on things.

If you're so curious about the gender of your baby, why don't you just find out? Hmm Grin

anon1987 · 22/05/2017 12:56

Load of rubbish.
I have 3 girls, 2 I had the line all the way, and 1 no line at all.

thecatsarecrazy · 23/05/2017 14:48

Mine didn't appear until just before I gave birth. He's 16 weeks now and I still have it

savagehk · 27/05/2017 16:33

Just had a girl with a Linea negra that definitely went under my belly button!
