What does amniotic fluid smell like?

I'm 26 weeks pregnant and, I know it sounds stupid but not sure if I'm leaking a bit of fluid.
It was after I got undressed for the bath, I had an empty bladder so I don't think it was wee, it was clear and had a particular smell.
I've had 2 DC but both waters were broken by midwife and the pad things thrown straight away.

To me it smelled like swimming pools.

Best get checked out OP.

People will tell you different thing a but on me it smells like new hay.

If you're worried you're leaking you really need to get checked out :)

A midwife friend said it smelt like semen, so a pretty unique smell!

I was othereise occupied to take note, but dh readily says thats what it definately smelt like!

Timeforabiscuit, that's what I feared, it smells exactly like semen, but there's definitely no chance of it being that!

A bit semeny mixed with strong period smell. I was very overdue though so I don't know if the period smell was normal or a result of my placenta breaking down.

TMI but when my waters broke all over the kitchen floor my two cats went mad for it and started licking like mad things. Eeww.

Probably worth giving midwives a call op just to be on the safe side.

I came on to say like semen and I see I'm not alone. Very distinctively so, it really surprised me. Hope all is ok.
