All alone

Hi, I wondered if anyone else has ever been in my position. I found out I was pregnant and me and my partner were over the moon. 2 months later, my boyfriend turns around and says he doesn't want to be with me anymore. He doesn't want to try and work at things, but says he will support my baby financially.
I'm really struggling with it all. Im crying everyday and I'm still smoking which makes me feel physically sick but I can't stop.
If anyone else has been through this I'd really appreciate any advice you have.

Didn't want this to go unanswered. I'm sorry you are going through a difficult time just now but one thing struck me from your post. You really have to stop smoking as this could harm the baby (as well as you). Please try to stop today. I hope you can get some support from other family or friends in RL but in the meantime sending you a hug.

I know I have to, it makes me feel so sick and guilty everytine I do :(

Speak to your midwife about nicotine replacement. I struggled to quit too and also went through a breakup with dd's dad and my stepdad dying and had the odd day where I broke and smoked but found patches and chewing gum helped so much. I was referred to a quit smoking midwife who only saw me in regards to that and then saw my normal midwife as well.

My midwife also asked if I wanted to see a councillor to talk to about the break up and then again when my stepdad passed.
May be worth mentioning it to yours see what she suggests?

OP don't beat yourself up, this isn't your fault and you will do best by that little baby, even though it sucks the dad doesn't want to be in a relationship with you at least he says he will support the baby which is positive

I'm not in the same boat but my little one is due in July and a few weeks into my pregnancy her dad passed away in an accident it was so so hard to keep going but they need us more than anyone right now and as hard as it is you do need to try and stop smoking - in a way it's a good sign you feel guilty for it because it means you know you shouldn't be doing it, I agree with previous posters and think you should talk to your midwife about everything, you won't be the first person she has seen who is going through something like this and you won't be the last

I'm sorry you're going through all that OP! But please - you HAVE to stop smoking. Would you smoke infront of your newborn? I'm hoping the answer is no, in which case you shouldn't smoke. Ever.
