Cheapie tests - not much dye or should i be worried??!

Hi everyone,

First pregnancy after a MC and a CP so i'm a little (lot) nervous!!!

Here is my FRER progression with the last one this morning at the bottom. Now, i also stupidly did a B&M £1 for 3 strip test and it came out quite lightish (although i think comes out slightly darker than in the photo). I'm 18dpo or 4.4 weeks.

Should i be worried or is this just 'cheap tests strike again' syndrome. I know quite a few people have said they never got darker results from a cheapie.... Never the less I am still worried!

Congratulations!!

Ah thanks! What about my sad little cheapie though. he's the one i'm worried about :(

I basically need to stop testing as well. Just, stop totally actually!

Don't let the cheapies throw you. I was still testing at 8 weeks Blush and the cheapies never got dark. Congratulations!

CL1982 · 11/05/2017 16:40

Oh really? So that is about normal for some people with cheapies? That is actually really helpful :) Thanks, I know i read a few people had the same thing. They haven't darkened but they haven't lightened either so i'm hoping that's a good thing. Or at least not a bad thing.

All my cheapies stayed pale until waaaaay down the line (i was using em up.... Blush) so i really wouldnt worry! I am 21 weeks now Grin congrats!!

MrsL2016 · 11/05/2017 17:29

IC's aren't as sensitive as FRER either.

purplek1tty · 11/05/2017 18:00

Don't worry about it. I had similar, even different strength of lines from separate cheapie tests, from the same wee! They aren't consistent, aren't sensitive at all and definitely shouldn't be used for progression (if you feel you have to keep testing!).

biginjapan · 11/05/2017 18:10

My cheapies were imperceptible for aaaages. I'd go by the frer, which looks great Smile

CL1982 · 11/05/2017 18:28

I did think that. I'm 4.4 weeks though so shouldn't really matter by this point? I know FRERs are super sensitive...

Thank you! I just keep worrying at my stage they should be getting dark! I think I get line envy from other posts and then Start worrying!

When I had frers like that my cheapie looked like that. I'm 10.3 weeks now Smile
Congratulations

Congratulations! I love threads like this.

My sad cheapie (Home Bargains cheapest) was equally pale. Not expecting to be pregnant I went to get some more expensive tests.
Pale line is now a toddler.

CL1982 · 11/05/2017 21:03

Thanks everyone. So I can assume basically that I can't count HOW pregnant I am by the cheapies basically? I am relieved. It was really upsetting me how pale it was :)

Nope they give no indication. And also don't forget everyone's HCG level varies massively. All you got to accept is that you are pregnant :-) relax and enjoy and stop POAS as anxiety is so hard to control with pregnancy hormones strike!! I'm 17 weeks and still have wobbles but trying to enjoy it

CL1982 · 11/05/2017 22:07

Thank you :)

My cheapies took ages to darken, I did find, though, that they were often darker with second, rather than first urine of the day, and googling showed this is apparently true for a lot of people.
They darkened eventually, the test line never really being quite as strong as the control, and then started to fade again at about 8 weeks, which is apparently normal.

CL1982 · 12/05/2017 12:48

Thanks all. My digi still said 1-2 weeks (damn it digi-i was hoping for 2-3 weeks) so I think I need to just put the tests down and accept it's going to go one way or another for me. I really appreciate the support :)

biginjapan · 12/05/2017 12:58

I had the same thing - digis never on track for me. Just had a great 8 week scan. Maybe try and get an early reassurance scan?

CL1982 · 12/05/2017 13:07

Oh really? I was worrying I should have at least 2-3 by now but I've read they can be a bit crap. I will admit I took it to get it out of the way and be rid of it!! I am a little concerned but I'm going to chill a little I think. I have a scan booked for next week (so will be just over 5 weeks) and then I have one at 7.

For anyone wondering i went on to MC at 6 weeks. Thanks for all the support from people however.
