Hi just had my last mid wife app before I have an elective c section next Thursday.

She felt my bump and said she felt head down. But couldn't find heart beat. When she did it was at the top of my bump. She rang hospital too see if I should go for a scan and they said they would scan me day of section. I'm worrying because she was quite vague about things but took about 15 mins to find heart beat. Come home with a pounding head ache and feel really worried.

Any one had similar thing

If your super worried goto the day unit, are you feeling movements?

Sweetpea86 · 10/05/2017 12:05

Yeah I'm feeling movements I think I'm just over worrying. Coz she didn't really explain any thing. If I'm still like this later I'll phone hospital

If baby is breech you hear the heartbeat higher up.
It can be difficult to feel if baby is head down/breech and it sounds like she's worried it might be breech due to heartbeat location.
Makes little difference if you are for c/s anyway.

if you're worried why don't you call your midwife to check but if she was concerned about the heartbeat she would have sent you for a scan. it sounds more like she is not confident of the position if she could only find heartbeat higher up. what has she written in notes about position
