Hey everyone, went to the ooh doctor yesterday, was bleeding and having cramps so was made an appt and the doctor is sending me for a us in 2 days because of threatened mc.

I'm 21 and this is my first pg been ttc for 2 months prior to finding out 2 days ago. At the ooh the test came back positive but it was a weak result so not looking good.

My question is is there anything I could have done wrong? I'm teetotal so I dont drink or smoke, I have a relatively relaxed lifestyle, no extreme stress or physical activity, is this just the way things go? It's a little disheartening so I'm wondering if anyone can give me some hope? I read a few posts of people saying this happened and they were still pg......

Mainly just feeling incredibly depressed (i suffer with bpd anyway so I knew it would be really hard on me) Sad

You couldn't have done anything either way. I now have 2DD but had 4 mc. With each I got progressively more cautious, stayed in bed, are a perfect diet. It made not a hot of difference.

I'm sorry this is happening (although it may not be the end), but despite it not being talked about very much, it's very common. It doesn't stop it hurting though. Xx

*ate a perfect diet

No, if the pregnancy wasn't meant to be it just wasn't meant to be, it's nothing you did and couldn't be stopped. However you don't know for sure that the pregnancy has ended. How far along are you?

blair1996 · 08/05/2017 13:15

doc thinks about 7 weeks along, I think it's more like 5 or 6.

Hi I'm 22 and about 6 - 7 weeks with my first. I was told this by an ooh doctor lastweek and I had a blood test and scan a few days later. He was talking utter nonsense!! I had pink and brown clotty bleeding with cramps and the scan showed my little bubble Smile they are scanning me again next Thursday to check the development. The nurses at the early pregnancy unit said if it's very heavy bleeding and very painful it's a possible loss and there is nothing you can do to prevent it from happening. Mine came after I was dealing with heavy luggage and 12 hours driving (I'm a coach driver) so I felt as though it was my fault. But no seriously try not to panic... easier said than done...
But keep hope I lost faith and it was depressing until I saw that screen. Still terrified and I probably will be until it's born all being well.

Best advice I've been given is rest! Take time off work I've just come back after a week - just sit or lie down try not to do much and avoid caffeine / risky foods.

Hope all goes well and as I said try not to panic everything could be fine. I've had many women on here tell me that they have had heavy bleeds and all has been okay x

Hannabee123 thanks, that's really reassuring. I've prepared myself for the worst case scenario but I still have hope!! We cant help but worry can we x

Just keep on resting and being cautious but don't worry so much. Just see what the scan brings. You might not see much mine just looked like a super tiny coloured in blob bubble Confused
Apparently my next scan I should see heartbeat. If your closer to 7 weeks you can see it ... fingers crossed for you.
My symptoms have died down which worried me but then sickness came with a vengeance. They will probably scan and scan again in a week or two if they can't see much like they are doing with me. But they will tell you straight away if it's attached in the right place and point out the little sack and the yolk. Is the bleeding and pain very bad or have you passed any clots?
I had clots which was the most scary but the lady said it's excruciating pain and very heavy which can indicate it like soaking through pads heavy x

blair1996 · 08/05/2017 14:24

It's not too heavy but its bright/dark red which is what really worried me (started out pinky brown but got worse) and it comes and goes, sometimes it's heavier and sometimes it's so light I can barely tell, but it's never been bad enough to soak through a pad. I have passed some clots (a few quite big ones!) and the pain is no worse than my usual period cramps, though I have quite a high pain threshold so I really don't know Confused

Just crossing my fingers and hoping for the best tomorrow morning x

Let me know how you get on the doctor told me it was most likely a miscarriage or the baby embedding in which must of been the 2nd but they should of explained what's happening to your body instead if worrying you. Flowers

blair1996 · 09/05/2017 14:58

UPDATE

Went for the scan this morning, which was INCONCLUSIVE!,The tech found a sack but said its smaller than it should be and is too far down, so suspects it is in the process of miscarrying.

Then taken for a consultation with a doctor who told me it could go either way, so back for another scan next week!

I just want to know now! Getting frustrated and more anxious every day...

Ok, so, pregnancy isn't ectopic, it's where it should be. My date from LMP is 6 weeks 6 days. From ovulation i should be 5 weeks 4 days. (I got positive opk on 14th, so this is guessing I ovulated on 16th) Scan shows sac measuring 5.3mm - she said just under 5 weeks 😕 with a yolk sac. No embryo yet so rescanning in 7 days. Pain was caused by a cyst on my ovary. I'm worried now 🙁😳

blair1996 · 10/05/2017 12:57

Let's all keep our fingers crossed for each other, and hope for good news next week Flowers xx

Hi guys,

I've been for a scan this morning (would be 6weeks from last period) to check for ectopic due to abdominal pain, seems like everything is ok, could see a yolk sack but no embryo yet, so have to go back in 2 weeks time... but they don't know what's causing the pain as ovaries and everything else looks fine Confused
Just got to wait and see at the next scan.

@Hotpinkangel19 I wouldn't worry - least you know what was causing the pain. Most cysts don't need anything doing to them and are really common. Though I know I will also be worrying right up until the next scan, so hard not to

@blair1996 So sorry to hear that, really hope it goes the other way Flowers

blair1996 · 10/05/2017 16:38

@rachy22 From what I can tell from reading other people's stories, sometimes pain can be normal, try not to worry too much (easier said than done!!) Good luck at your next scan I hope everything is okay!!

I'm honestly so grateful to find such a wonderful community here. I don't know how I would have gotten through the past few days without you all Flowers x
