Worried I've had a MMC...

I'm 9 weeks today.
My pregnancy symptoms have gone, except some slightly sore nipples.
I had the slightest trace of brown discharge on Saturday night.
My booking appt with the midwife isn't until next week.
I just don't know what to do, or why I feel like this.
DP doesn't get why I'm so worried. Thinks it's my body getting used to being pregnant.

Its perfectly normal at this stage to feel "not pregnant" all of a sudden. I remember feeling the same at this stage. You and baby will be fine.

Brown blood is fine as it's old blood, bright red blood is more of a concern. And to be honest they don't check anything at your booking appointment. I was hoping to hear the heartbeat but apparently they won't do it as they can't always find it so early on.

Do you have your appointment for your first scan? You'll feel better after that x

It's a stressful time. All I will say is that symptoms are a VERY poor indicator of what's going on. Some people have few symptoms or find they fade early, and gave healthy pregnancies. Some people have raging symptoms and sadly have had a mmc. It's natural to worry but reduced symptoms could simply mean hormones are settling down a bit as you get closer to the placenta taking over.

Brown discharge is old blood and likely to be nothing to worry about by itself. Red blood, pain, cramps etc are more of a concern. I had a trickle of brown blood and it was nothing, just old blood working it's way out.

That said, it DID worry me so I paid for a private scan. Best £89 I ever spent, I felt so much more reassured afterwards. Might be an option to consider if you can afford it?

Otherwise just try and tell yourself that you have no reason to think anything is wrong.

When I've had the brown discharge I've gone to the GP and been referred to the Early Pregnancy Unit for a scan. I have a history of miscarriages so this may be why they were happy to refer, if the discharge continues try phoning the midwife and seeing what they suggest - or see your Gp?

I'm sure there's nothing to worry about, but a scan will help you feel a bit less miserable! Ring EPU and perhaps they will scan you.

I just can't stop thinking something is going to go wrong.
Couldn't bear it if I paid for a private scan and something was wrong...
I think I'm quite stressed anyway because I get married in 16 days!
