Whats the Best Antacid??

Hi I have a bad/ sore tummy atm anyway and it is just being irritated but stomach acid - have been gulping gaviscon but its not touching it - what else works pls??

during my first pregnancy i had pretty awful heartburn and found gaviscon pretty useless. i was told by the pharmacist that it was the only one which was safe to use during preg so i had to stick with it. this time, my doctor has given me some stuff on prescription called mucogel, which i take 3 times a day. it apparently isn't greatly diff to gaviscon except for it is much lower in sodium. so far so good, for me, but still fairly early days. might be worth discussing with your doc to get his/her views.....

I've been using rennie's. They are amazing. My MW swears by them for heartburn and bad tummy's.

Another vote for Rennies - I use the soft chews - don't stick in teeth and don't taste too bad either (weak toothpaste). Only thing that will touch my heartburn

I got prescribed some extreme form of Gaviscon when I had very bad indigestion, but last pg I used Rennie's which were much nicer to take.

i think settlers are by far the best. Gaviscon tastes like minty sperm ACK ACK ACk and am currently using rennies....but i don't think rennies are anywhere near as good as SETTLERS (my shop had run out of them hence the purchase of rennies in desperation )
They are cheap too, like £1.50 for 3xsmall tube-like packets.
I've suffered terribly with heartburn throughout my pregnancy so i really feel for u xx

gaviscon advance - only one that worked for me, ordinary gaviscon useless
