Got my first BFP this morning! We've been trying since November and I was starting to think it would never happen. I'm 5 weeks exactly today going by last AF, so it looks like my due date will be early Jan 2018.
I couldn't believe it when I saw the line on the stick, have also done a clear blue digital one which shows conception was 2-3 weeks ago.
I'm excited and worried and feeling very alone as don't want to tell people this early but really want someone to talk to who has experienced this or who is going through this. DH obviously knows and is over the moon.
Is there anyone else here who it 5 weeks ish?
I don't even know if I'm supposed to tell the doctor yet! Aahh help!

Hi ladies. I've just come across this thread can I join you please?

I'm 7+4 today, we found out at end of last month. I have PCOS and so had to take clomid to encourage ovulation but it worked first time and here we are! Because of this I have already had a scan - everything was fine and we saw a heartbeat which brought a tear. I was really worried that it was going to take us ages to fall pregnant.

So far I've had sore boobs but thats now pretty much gone. I get tummy aches on and off and I'm now getting more and more food aversions and sicky feelings throughout the day. No actual sickness so far though thank god.

Its lovely to read others' experiences on here. I'll make a note of the frequent nibbling to keep sicky feelings at bay! :) x

Aww that's lovely whereland. I really can't wait to see my baby :).
Hi Summer, congratulations! Have you had any cravings yet?

Hi all,

I'm also in the Jan 2018 baby boat! Exactly 6 weeks today and due Jan 13th ish (I think, super confused about how this is measured...but anyway).

My story is that I was gently trying with my DH, but due to PCOS we didn't think it would happen as quickly as it did. When I found out I was pregnant we had just had a house purchase fall through, and we couldn't understand how we were going to make a baby work (in London as well so super tough). I actually even had an appointment at an abortion clinic. Which I pushed back and pushed back, until we realised we would be fine. We are in our 30's, with good jobs, and a lot of love to give a baby. Both of us are still freaking out slightly, but are in a much much better place.

Anyway, hope that wasn't too much of a downer!! I have had London underground plus morning sickness fun this week (plastic bags and pears helping me through!!), but no other symptoms. We have bought a house (yay) and I am shocking at secrets so we have told most people.

A random one, but if anyone else is London based and fancies meeting up then give me a shout. I need pregnant friends to tell me what I'm going through is OK!!

allthecheese · 26/05/2017 19:12

P.S. Whhhyy am I pregnant when the sun and the Pimms comes out?!?! I really want a beer garden drink!!

Kitcaty · 26/05/2017 21:08

Hi allthecheese. Congrats on your baby and your house!
I'm in Devon but would also love some other pregnant people to hang out with. Went to a beer garden after work today as it's been lovely here, everyone was drinking cider and I had my lemonade :(

Hi can I join?
I'm 5 weeks 4 days and due January 22nd, this is our first baby took 2 years ttc due to pcos. I was also on clomid which has helped me conceive. My first appointment is 19th June which seems ages away!! Can't wait to have my first scan, congrats to all of you 😊

SummerHopin · 27/05/2017 08:17

Morning everyone, hello to fellow newbies.

I am a bit sad not to drink in the sun although to be fair we were so worried this wouldn't happen I promised myself I would be happy to have a water and happy to have morning sickness because it would mean our dream had come true.

.....very powerful words back then, now I'm sat here trying to get a BBQ together today trying not to throw up all over everything! Lol!

No cravings as such, but I do find that orange juice with ice in fits thing in the morning works for me. It's refreshing and gives me a bit of a sugar kick when food just won't go down.

Anyone else got any sickness battling tips?

Stee1 · 27/05/2017 13:49

New year baby too, unsure of due date as had implant removed 8 weeks ago and tested 2-3 weeks on clear blue digital last week hope everyone's feeling ok

Stee1 · 27/05/2017 13:49

I should add I didn't get a period after removal so caught straight away

rachy22 · 27/05/2017 21:32

Hi to everyone new! So exciting to hear of so much joy

I had a scan yesterday, measured 8weeks and could see the heart pumping away - so wonderful!

Have been feeling sick, but only when I'm hungry, so eating at regular mealtimes seems to be helping with that. Have also gone right off tea, which I love! But if that's all I get I'll be very happy!

@allthecheese I am also london based (NW) would be lovely to meet up if possible!

Cupcakey · 31/05/2017 06:50

Amazing news Rachy :-) xxxx
Hello to everyone new! Congrats
Also feeling very sickly have to constantly eat, I find I'm worse late afternoon early evening with feeling sick. Drinking lots of water with ice seems to make me feel better. Can't stand broccoli or peas at the moment yet I usually eat them no problem! Odd ha ha. xx

Whereland · 31/05/2017 10:18

I've had a couple of moments of nausea, usually if I don't eat straight away in the morning. I'm keeping oatcakes to hand and they help if I feel queasy during the day.
Will be 9 weeks this Friday, every week that passes I feel a bit less anxious about whether this is actually real or not!!

SummerHopin · 31/05/2017 11:10

I'm dealing with nausea too, but not developed into sickness thankfully. Weirdly I am totally off meat! I've never liked fish because of the smell but lastnight DH had some fish and I had to go outside! Then I cried as I was cold......so hormonal also it seems!!!
Cupcakey I too find that putting ice in things makes me feel better. Have been having iced orange juice in the mornings and it makes me feel much better.

Posting after a longish silence; work has been manic. Hope everyone is well and not feeling too sick, and enjoying the weather!

We went for a private viability scan yesterday (7w5d by my calculation), and saw a heart beat! Blob dates at 7w4d, we could see the head and tail ends (well, so we were told, although frankly she could have said anything and we'd have believed it- I can never understand ultrasound pics!), and a little line vibrating up and down, which was the heart.

Super cool and made it so real. I was immensely relieved because morning sickness and tiredness had died down significantly this week, and I was half expecting to be told that it wasn't going to work out this time. If anyone is considering a private scan at this stage, I highly recommend it! :)

@rachy22 and @allthecheese, I'm in NW London too! :D

Dormouselike · 04/06/2017 14:48

Hello, mind if I join in? Due on 12 Jan I think - can't really work out the whole how many weeks thing, it's either 8+2 or 9+2. First Mumsnet post, first pregnancy, feeling v excited but like it's not very real (despite sore boobs and constant need to sleep) and really looking forward to a scan to make sure there is really a baby in there. So nice to hear you all at a similar stage!

Oh and @rachy22 @allthecheese @user1484167681 I'm also in NW London (suburbs of anyway). Commuting into London every day has been extra super fun since I started having superhuman powers of smell Grin

rachy22 · 05/06/2017 17:37

Hi @Dormouselike, welcome. Haha, yes the commute has definitely been more interesting to say the least

@user1484167681 it is so exciting to see the heartbeat isn't it?! I agree, couldn't make head nor tail of the rest of the image, but still made it feel so much more real.

Hope the rest of you are all doing ok?

Where abouts are all you London ladies? I'm in Harrow.

Dormouselike · 06/06/2017 09:14

Cool to hear about your scans, I feel like mine can't come soon enough.

I'm in Ruislip @rachy22

Whereland · 07/06/2017 12:06

How is everyone doing? I'm having a 10 week scan this Friday, I can't wait. Is anyone showing yet? Some days I think I am a bit more rounded but that's generally after I've eaten! My jeans haven't started feeling tighter or anything yet..

Hannah91x · 07/06/2017 14:09

@Whereland I'm having a 10 week scan on Saturday Grin cannot wait! I'm not showing but I'm feeling very bloated and jeans are definitely tighter, but I haven't stopped eating so I'm putting it down to that!

Can't wait for a bump!!

hanna87 · 10/07/2017 11:26

Hello to all the NW London mum to bes! Just wondered what hospitals you have decided to go for?

hanna87 · 10/07/2017 11:30

Should say I've opted for queen charlottes due to all the horror stories with Northwick Park.. and hillingdon would be a nightmare on transport for all the appointments (I don't drive!)

Dormouselike · 10/07/2017 19:08

Hi @hanna87. I know the NHS paperwork talks about having a choice but I haven't been offered any alternatives to Hillingdon. It's my closest hospital though so makes sense.

Dormouselike · 10/07/2017 19:12

Has anyone got a bump yet? All my clothes are too small but no-one seems to notice.

Whereland · 10/07/2017 19:30

I have a small bump, it's probably more noticeable to me- if I wanted to I could hide it but I'm enjoying having a little bump!

hanna87 · 10/07/2017 19:43

Hey Doormouse! Im in Eastcote-Gp offered referral to hillingdon or NPH if i wanted an alternative. I called Queen Charlottes and they said you just self refer!

For me hillingdon would take over an hour for appointments from work...otherwise I did have an early pregnancy scan there and staff were friendly there.

Ive been buying lots of new clothes! Im 4ft 10, so don't know when I went from bloating to bump! Tummy has been a small ballon from around 8/9 weeks! Have gone for larger sizes for tops for now as still going to grow, and the "Maternity" label seems to carry a hefty price tag! Though have bought a few pairs of maternity trousers for comfort!
